Taling Pling Silom is located in the shopping/eating arcade “Baan Silom” on the busy Silom Road. The restaurant offers plenty of original cooked Thai foods in various cooking styles. They provide a big menu book which explains each item with the photographs and background of authentic Thai style cooking. Atmospheres is great. Taste of the food is absolutely nice and I have no issues with the quality of the food, however, they will charge 500 THB as a corkage fee for bringing own bottle in, so I had to order beers instead which is super expensive namely a small (320cc) beer costs 150 THB excluding 10% service charge and 7% VAT !!!! Crazy !!!! 😞😞😞 Whereas the food’s price is also high but still reasonable I think, except rice ; a dish of not so big portion of steamed rice costs 45 THB excluding service charge and vat. The restaurant accepts credit cards. Restroom is clean. parking is available comfortably in the parking lot of the arcade with free of charge for the...
Read moreI and my other 2 friends from Korea and Australia went to this restaurant on 2 Dec 2018 at 9.20. We ordered satay pork on the stick. My friend found a man's hair on one of the pork stick. She asked for the service recovery cuz it's unacceptable to have a hair on her food. The staff offered her a new pork stick which was ridiculous since we all lose our appetite on that food already. She asked if it is possible to have coconut juice instead but then no one ever came to take care of our table. The staffs look angry and seems like they wanna get rid of us. Then when it's almost 10pm, a lady with brown shirt walked to us and almost throw the bill on our table and she said "we would like you to pay." That was not friendly at all since we ordered a lot and expected a bit better manner than street food restaurants. We paid 1500 Baht with such bad service. We will never come back again!! Not even a sorry from them about a hair...
Read moreAVOID - do not even want to give this place one star. Firstly, it barely passes as Thai food which it markets itself as experts in. The meat on both the beef and chicken was overly fatty and gristly - and I can get around some fatty juicy meat but this made my stomach turn. We left without finishing our overpriced meals, my boyfriend tried to take his soda water with him but the host refused and didn't let him take the bottle of water. Insane. THEN later my partner and I were violently ill for hours (I'm talking both ends at once while sharing a hotel toilet - nightmare) and were not able to board our next flight out of Bangkok. Thank god for good travel insurance. I feel completely robbed by the abysmal excuse of an "upmarket" restaurant - that has absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever. Avoid like the plague -...
