I never review veg restaurants poorly, but this one just ain't right - food tastes...I don't know - something is off about it for thai vegetarian food. Like it was cooked by a non-vegetarian and/or someone who doesn't eat thai food. It's not 'bad' but it lacks the deepness of flavour I've had everywhere else in Thailand - living here over a year.
The pricing is also downright offensive for the portions; not only did they add a 10% service charge and 7% VAT charge, but the portions are around 30% smaller than most restaurants.
I could look past that if the food was good - and service was good - but it was below average, and while I'd normally just write-it off even then and not leave a review, not wanting to give a veg place a bad review, they charged 25baht for a namthip water - not a glass bottle, or some fancy water brand, but the cheapest water available at the supermarket or 711.
The markup is 400%~.
Never have I been charged that much for such a bottle of water - not in any of the hundred plus restaurants I've been to in Thailand, not on the street late at night, not at a mom and pop corner store or restaurant, not on the 50th floor of a rooftop bar, not in the middle of nowhere an hour hike from anything resembling a road.
25 baht for a small cheap water bottle - it tipped me over the edge, the owner is beyond greedy, screw it being a vegetarian restaurant - that's just absurd.
10 baht like most restaurants? Suitable; 15 baht if you want to be greedy, or even 20 if you want to be a bit absurd, but 25 is just offensive for such water.
Anyhow there's plenty of other vegetarian restauants around, including thai ones just a few minutes walk North of this one - go to one of them. Not here - unless it's 9pm and nothing else is open. Maybe even then just go to 711 and get a frozen meal - that's what...
Read moreThe food was excellent and possibly the best food we had during the whole trip we recently had to Thailand.
They catered very well for vegetarians but as a mixed couple (I eat meat my wife doesn't) the food was outstanding whatever your diet.
The massaman curry was a particular favourite of ours and all the other food we ordered was also excellent.
We were staying very nearby at the Grande Centre Point Surawong and it was very convenient.
There are just a few things they can do that would make a huge difference (from our western perspective)
These sound picky but we genuinely loved the food and want them to be successful so I hope our...
Read moreI went there after seeing the reviews but I was disappointed. Very noisy. My pad thai dish was good but the green curry was so spicy I wasn't able to eat it at all. This is after the waiter assured me that it can be made mild. The fried rice had an old oil smell to it and wasn't special at all. I will not return to this place. Beside the food there was a large birthday party and the noise level in the restaurant was very high. It made the whole experience awful. The people at the birthday party table were not considerate and made a lot of noise but the restaurant staff didn't ask them to be quiet either. I am sure they could have requested them to be a little quieter. The tofu they gave in the curry was all crushed tofu. I have never had curry with crushed tofu. They normally have chunky tofu. Overall I am very disappointed as I thought I had found a good...
