We stayed in Göreme for five nights, and this restaurant quickly became the highlight of our trip. We ate here twice a day, every day, and never once got tired of the food. That alone says everything.
The menu offers a wonderful variety for vegans, vegetarians, and non-vegetarians alike. The dishes are always fresh, healthy, and full of flavor. The cozy, handcrafted decor adds to the charm — it’s not a luxury restaurant, but it feels like a home you never want to leave.
What truly made the experience unforgettable was the kind and thoughtful host. He’s incredibly observant — on a hot day when we ordered another plate of watermelon, he quietly turned the fan toward us without us even asking. Small gestures like this left a big impression.
We especially recommend trying the Lentil Soup, Nar Salatası, Şakşuka, Gözleme Mantarli, and Baba Ganuş — they became our absolute favorites.
We even took a photo with the host before we left ,that’s how much this place meant to us. If we return to Cappadocia, this restaurant will be one of the biggest reasons why.
Thank you for making us feel at home and so well cared for. We’ll carry the warmth of this place...
ENGLISH I visited Goreme Restaurant with my boyfriend for our last night in Cappadocia, attracted by the good reviews and apparent variety of vegetarian options. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing.
We ordered: Lentil soup: Bland and served with a dry and probably old lemon wedge. Baba ganoush: Practically inedible. It tasted only of garlic, to the point of causing nausea. Falafel (vegetarian option): The only decent dish of the evening. Lamb skewers: The flavor was completely overwhelmed by pepper, making us suspect that the meat wasn't fresh. We were counting on the bottle of wine we ordered, but it caused stomachache, further worsening the experience.
The restaurant features an atmosphere and decor that reflect Turkish culture, which some might appreciate. However, the environment didn't give the impression of being particularly clean, which negatively contributed to the overall experience.
Although the overall cost wasn't excessive, considering the quality of the food and the negative consequences (nausea all night), the value for money was decidedly poor. In practice, we paid to eat badly and feel sick.
The only positive note was the kindness of the waitress who served us.
Overall, it was a very negative culinary experience. I don't understand how this restaurant has received positive reviews, and I hope that ours was just "bad luck." In any case, I absolutely cannot recommend eating...
Read moreI must say, I’ve been in Turkey for one month before and came to Cappadocia with my boyfriend this times and it is a struggle to find a decent place where you don’t get extreme high prices (inflation) But the dinner we had were super good, don’t be afraid of the way it looks like, the food is really worth it. We had platter of starters, of course you don’t eat all the starters, you take what you like, me and my bf really enjoyed baba ganoush, grape stuffed leaves, me personally loved dried tomatoes, and another eggplant grilled starter - my boyfriend ate it all, olives are good as always, humus is hummus, and yogurt is yogurt ahahha. And we also had one main goreme koftesi (we don’t eat much meat with my bf on our daily) but it was super good, soft juicy and for me felt like it melts in my mouth. We ordered also bottle of local wine emir(July 2024 - 950tl), was also good! So far we really liked, and for me and my boyfriend was more than enough (starter plate, main, and started with...
