Brace yourself for this long review but it is so well deserved and I truly feel the owners deserve some recognition. Run do not walk to this absolutely new delicious restaurant in TCI which is about a two minute walk down the road from Seven Stars resort. Having been to Turks before and eating at many of the restaurants, including the ones that you sometimes need to reserve 60 days in advance, none and and I mean none of these restaurants hold a candle to how good the food was tonight at Osteri and I say that boldly. My only disappointment was that I hadn’t found this restaurant sooner bc I would have eaten here almost every night. Being New NJ/NYers sorry but we know good food, good Italian and good pizza and this place knocked it out of the park. From the waitress Marlissa that was as sweet as can be, and beyond attentive, to the general manager where I sadly didn’t catch her name but she was beyond personable as well and made her rounds constantly checking on all the tables and engaging with the customers and chipped in whether it be running food or clearing tables as well which is what teamwork is all about. The owner should be proud of his staff. Now onto the food which sadly I didn’t get pictures of everything but it was so good that I left feeling like I had to be rolled out of there which is not common for me at all. We got the fried calamari and the prosciutto with melon for appetizers. The fried calamari was battered perfectly with a light coating that was absolutely delicious and the best part was the tentacles which not many restaurants serve. It was not over fried and not heavy. The marinara dipping sauce was delicious and my kids wanted more bread just to dip it in it. The prosciutto was so thinly sliced, fat trimmed off of it, and was absolutely delicious and the amount given was amazing. The cantaloupe was fresh and sweet and paired well with it. If I could nit pick and give one critique it would only be to give one more piece of melon so the ratio of melon to prosciutto was more even but it was absolutely delicious. My sons got the margherita pizza which was delicious from the sauce to the crust with little flop (as Dave portnoy says-if you know good pizza then you know Dave portnoy from barstools😉) and the mozz on it was so good with basil to complete the pie. My boys tried to fight me off it just so I could try half a slice. My daughter got the cacio e Pepe which is her go to dish that she gets at every Italian restaurant and she loved it. Just the right amount of cream and the pepper was not too overwhelming. Lastly for dinner I had the gnocchi with mozzarella and tomato and it was absolute heaven. Gnocchi was not too dense and was light and the sauce and mozz completed the meal. For dessert my daughter had the tiramisu which was a little different from our traditional tiramisu and she would have liked the lady fingers soaked a bit more in espresso however she still loved it and cleaned the entire plate and she is a dessert queen (and owns a cookie company) so she is a baker! My son had the chocolate cake which was a piece that was so big it could have fed the four of us and it was moist, creamy and had a deep chocolate taste. Last but not least I had the key lime pie and the crust was great and the key lime was a touch of sour with the creamy sweetness which is just how I like it. My kids already want to go back so thurs night before we have to leave fri we are going back again for some more delicious food. I hope the locals give this place a try and please all hotels tell your guests about this restaurant it truly is a gem and I hope it has much success. With love from the King...
Read moreThe worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were a party of four. It took 50 minutes for two of our entrees to come out. After that it was 25 minutes for the third entree (a pizza) and then another 20 minutes for the fourth entree (also a pizza). We were held captive there for over two hours. The food is average Italian of the kind that is… what it is. So so. Maybe better than Olive Garden. Probably the same. The service was curt and rude - I had to fight them to get one pizza removed from our bill. If I hadn’t been there with my kids I would have left without paying the bill at all because it was such an awful experience. With my kids in a foreign country I wasn’t going to make a scene. The atmosphere was terrible because so many other people there were yelling and pissed off. Just a disaster. Their excuse was that they were slammed but at most they were 75 percent full. There were empty tables. They clearly just don’t know what they’re doing. Avoid it unless you’re prepared to be there a very very long time waiting for incompetent people to bring you so-so...
Read moreA but conched-out after 6 days in paradise, we decided to pick up a pizza and take back to our room. We found this cute place just around the corner from our hotel, Ports of Call. It appeared to be new and we were the only ones when we arrived. The bubbly manager/owner came to greet us and she seemed very thrilled we were there. The wait was normal for pizza - about 25 minutes. We ordered the large meat lover’s. It was very good although I did not care for the meatballs. Wish we would’ve gotten just pepperoni. The crust was fine - thin and nicely crisp, with tasty sauce. Could’ve used a but more cheese. Overall - a...
