I'm a Jamaican and I'm visiting Turks and Caicos. The patties remind me of a petty place in Jamaica Aica that was one of the old-school patty places. It was called tastees patties. I don't remember if that's the way they used to it but basically was called tasty patties. The crust reminds me of it and tasty patties was filled with meat just like this. I have a couple of issues and I'm a very good honest reviewer and I've been many many places around this world. I went there about 8 o'clock at night and on this particular night they were supposedly closing at 10. I went to the fish fry and I just got back from the fish fry which is on Thursday nights. I went to go get a beef patty, and some Devon house ice cream . They ran out of beef patties. The only patty they had was chicken patty and plant based. The problem that I had was that the lady behind the desk that was taken, the order was very flat, non-expressive, not friendly, and dry. If you know what I mean. I love to see Turks and Caicos giving all the Haitians jobs out here. That's lovely because the Grace Bay Area is loaded with some of the most friendly kindest best Haitians I've ever work with and I've worked with all of them in New York and Georgia. This particular Haitian lady was very rude. She had no customer service skills whatsoever. And every time I would look at her, she would give me the nastiest look. You would think that I was a PTSD flashback for her and maybe I reminded her of a woman that her boyfriend must've cheated on her with. That's how mean this lady was looking at me. The lady serving the ice cream was Jamaican. I can tell the Accent because I'm Jamaican. Again, she was still kind of dry and kind of flat but a little bit more approachable. At least she wasn't giving me mean looks On a scale of 0 to 5, I would say the taste is between a three and four. It lacks a lot of spice. Jamaicans like their patties spicy for the most part. But I will say it is very flavorful. If you don't mind not having any pepper in your food. The crust was wonderful. The temperature was hot and good. The Dean house was good, but it tastes a little freezer burn and not like the typical Devon house that I'm accustomed to. It was creamy but the great nut did not have very many great nuts in it. (I called them grape nuts) Hey, you are serving tourist from all over the world. You're in a great Prime location. Giggles is a little steps away from you and giggle sells ice cream as well. There's pastry places and delicious food places everywhere. The reason why some of us don't stay in business is because we don't know how to be friendly. If we can just smile and make a little bit of small talk or just smile and be courteous. You could've said I'm so sorry ma'am. We ran out of patties. We had some large orders earlier. Tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock , we should have some more. Or maybe say I'm not gonna charge you for one of the patties or I'll give you some free ice cream to compensate that we did not have enough patties. Because technically, you're supposed to have enough food until you close. You should always Estimate how much food you're going to need and it's always a bad look when you run out of something. Especially when I paid expensive Taxi fear to come to your establishment and then you ran out of patties. At least be nice and show some compassion or empathy and act like you give a…. Don't be nasty and rude and giving people mean looks and turning up your nose at people. I would say that out of every establishment I've been to in Turks and Caicos and I've went to all the top establishments for the past week. It's not my first visit here. It's my third. I would say that these are the meanest, most unhappy group of people I have come across in Turks and...
Read moreOrdered a vegan and plant based patty. Was served a shrimp / chicken patty that was identified by myself after eating it. Informed the staff and was given a new patty that I did not eat due to the fact I have never eaten meat in my life and was overwhelmed, but when asked for them to resolve it the supervisor continued to berate me and made me feel in the wrong for asking for it to be refunded. Ultimately, given $4.50 back but I don’t care about the money, I don’t think they understand the severity of what they did wrong nor the potential consequences for someone who may have been allergic. Would be very hesitant on returning due to the customer service provided and would advise anyone with a food allergy / dietary restriction to be aware. I hope they...
Read moreOur favorite in the island, for both beef patties and ice cream. The patties are flaky and flavorful. You can upgrade them all to a MEGA that includes cheese lettuce and tomatoes. Beef and soy are our favorite flavors. They also have coco bread option and vegan patties. The I cream here is also great, the perfect balance or sweet and creamy, my personal favorite being the grapenut. This location has ample seating outside, most of which is shaded and kid friendly. They only have street parking, we’ve had no trouble finding a spot the few times we drove. This located right on Grace Bay near all shops and...
