I visited on 9/8/23 around 8:30pm. I took my wife here for our first anniversary. Big mistake. Firstly, it is AED67 per person. Extremely over-priced and, they do NOT take cards. Only cash. Strike one.
When we arrived, a hostess told us to be seated anywhere and, walked off. Couldn't be bothered to show us to a table. So, we went off in search of one ourselves. There were none. All tables were either reserved or, covered in dishes and food from the previous patrons. No one was cleaning. So, we had to wait ten minutes for someone to clean the tables before we could be seated. Meanwhile, no sign of the hostess, anywhere. Strike two.
Once we were seated and went to choose our food, multiple dishes were out-of-stock. They either didn't bother to replenish or, the pans were simply gone. This was the raw meats. We had to flag a bus-boy to make someone aware. Yep, strike three.
The serving dishes for pre-prepared, hot, dishes were cold. Ice cold. There were also not enough serving utensils for everything. One to two for an entire line! Both raw, uncooked, foods and, cooked. Ever heard of cross-contamination? Apparently not. Strike four.
What employees there were were either hiding or, complacent. You had to stop one(when you could find them) to ask for any assistance and then, they were rude, acting as if they couldn't be bothered. Strike five.
There were abundant flies in the sushi area. It was extremely warm inside. Much warmer than any hot-pot should be. The door was wide-open when we walked in, despite having A/C. Yep, you guessed it.......strike number 6!
The only high-light was the young, Filipino, man whom attended us at our table. He was friendly, attentive and, actually smiled! He was one of the only employees who could be seen working, other than one, other bus-boy.
Overall, it was a terrible experience. What should have been a nice evening for my wife and I, wasn't. Terrible service, small selection of over-priced food, unclean, limited, poorly-placed, seating, hot and humid climate, etc. I had higher expectations but sadly, they were struck down. There are better hot-pots in Abu Dhabi. Do yourself a favor and, pass...
Read moreUpon entering, the first thing I noticed is the cleanliness of their area. The place is properly cleaned and is well maintained.
The next thing that caught my attention are the wide variety of food. From beef, chicken and seafood for BBQ; to frozen meat and fresh vegetables for hotpot; to sushis, buns, rice and noodles for buffet; they have alot to choose from You come hungry and will surely leave with a full tummy 😉
Their staff are also very courteous and helpful. They help us take the food to our table. They are also regularly refilling the food in the containers to make sure that there are enough quantities on-display.
Also, they are doing proper sanitization on the tables and chairs, so we feel safe and comfortable. Each table can accommodate 4 person. There are also more seating available on their 2nd floor.
During Ramadan, they are open from 11AM to 12MN for dine in. They also have a take away option on selected items at a very affordable price.
Overall, it was an amazing dining experience! Will definitely come...
Read moreThe Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority issued an administrative closure decision against the “Happy Grassland Hot Pot” restaurant and grill facility on Airport Road in Abu Dhabi, due to its violation of the law, as well as its danger to public health.
The authority explained that the food control report stated that the administrative closure decision came as a result of repeated violations affecting the safety of food materials, and the facility’s failure to take effective corrective measures to correct these violations, as this facility was issued four violations for reasons related to the infestation of insects and the low level of cleanliness in areas. Handling and preserving food, and storing cooked food items that are ready to be served in an exposed and unprotected condition from the risks of exposure to contamination, which affects food safety and the health...
