Had an absolute horrendous experience at this restaurant. We were a party of 8 people, ordered drinks and food. Before we placed our orders, the owner came to us and informed us about the happy hour deals. Later our server came and took our order. We placed the order for our drinks and asked him to punch it in before happy hour ends. We ensured we clarified that we want to include our beers in the happy hour. When the bill came the waiter informs us that the beers are not included in the happy hour deal. This could have been informed to us before. We made sure that we clarified well in advance and informed our server that we want to include the beers in our happy hour and he assured us that it will be done. We asked to speak to the owner, but he refused to come out and face us.
After long arguments, we paid our bill and asked for the resturant to stamp our valet tickets and to our surprise, we were informed that tickets will only be stamped if your food order is above AED 400. Our order was infact AED 800+, but he refused to stamp all the valet tickets and said I will stamp only 2. If you want the 3rd ticket to be stamped you have to pay additional AED 10.
NOWHERE in UAE is that a rule. If I am a customer at a resturant they have to stamp my valet ticket.
But this is not where the cheapness and dirty tactics of the owner ends. On our way out we ran into the owner of the restaurant and tried to provide a feedback. Not only did he misbehave with us by saying that maybe you are unaware on how 5 star hotels run, but was just trying to charge us for valet stamping to pocket the money. Because as per the hotel reception, the valet team and the concierge, there is no charge on the valet if you are dining at the restaurant. Irrespective of bill amount. The valet saw that 2 of our 3 valet tickets had been validated and said no need to validate the 3rd, we know you were guests at the restaurant. Furthermore he confirmed that this restaurant owner tries to scam people this way to just pocket some extra cash.
Such pathetic behaviour by the owners and staff of this restaurant is honestly astonishing. Especially in a place like UAE where Hospitality is something we take pride in, a restaurant like this is just ruining the pristine reputation of Emirati and Indian Hospitality. The rude and abysmal behaviour of the owner and his team proves that they are not geared up to run a restaurant.
Do not go and waste your time...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience I recently visited Khana Khazana with a group of 8 friends, and I'm sorry to say our experience was far from satisfactory. First, the food was mediocre at best. But the main issues arose with their happy hour policy. We called ahead to confirm happy hour lasted until 9:00 PM and placed our drink orders before that time. However, we were charged full price on the bill. After a lengthy discussion, they reluctantly reduced the price on some drinks, but not all. The parking validation situation was even more frustrating. The restaurant refused to stamp all our parking tickets, claiming their policy was to validate one ticket per 400 AED spent. As someone who has lived in the UAE for over two decades, I've never encountered such a restrictive policy. When we checked with the hotel reception, they confirmed this was not the standard policy, leaving us feeling cheated. The owner's response to our concerns was shockingly unprofessional. When we tried to discuss our experience, he dismissively asked if this was our first time in a restaurant. This level of arrogance and disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable. Our evening was completely ruined by this experience. The combination of mediocre food, misleading happy hour policies, parking validation issues, and the owner's arrogant attitude has ensured that we will never return to...
