Crash and burn... did you ever want a place to be everything you heard it was on someone else's visit? My wife and I had looked at Loca's online menu and salivated over many of the great sounding dishes. Then some friends went there and experienced Loca's businessman weekly special. We made the decision that we were going for one of our date nights and we were ready to get our Mexican on! The place is all flash, it's hip, cool, jazzy, colorful, but on this visit the food was basic, bland, and certainly didn't meet the price point. We ordered a Mar y Tierra, a mix fajita platter with chicken, grilled angus beef, fish, and shrimp. This dish came out sizzling and then fizzled. The chicken and angus beef were tough, the fish, which I was told was kingfish was paper thin and covered with some sort of gelatinous cheese, and the shrimp were on the way to rubbery. The little bowls of sides were equally unimpressive. The tortillas were either warmed in a microwave or had been sitting for awhile as they were hardened around the edges. My wife ordered the Tostada Salad with grilled beef tenderloin. It looked beautiful but not tender. This experience just wasn't working for us and it was time to cut our losses. I initially rated this place a 3, but I think I was simply focusing on the food and disregarding everything else, so I'm changing it to a 4.

The food in this place isn't the best. I wouldn't have minded it, considering it's a bit more of a "bar" to me than a restaurant, but the prices are completely unreasonable for the food you receive. Flavor wise, they're fine, but really, in my opinion save your money and just get drinks.

Now for the drinks- the ones on their menu are great, I've tried all their margaritas and they're all really nice. Weirdly enough, they're pretty affordable too.

The service is GREAT. They're so accommodating, attentive, and friendly. Also very fast considering how crowded the place gets.

The atmosphere isn't bad and the music is pretty loud, but not loud enough that you can't hear anyone else.

They also have ladies night on Wednesdays with unlimited margaritas, but not the ones on the menu, only strawberry, lime, or passion fruit. They're not the best but I honestly don't expect them to be.
