I recently dined at a charming restaurant.. it is a fusion of Levantine and Armenian food and the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in the warm and inviting atmosphere, with soft Middle Eastern music playing in the background.
The menu offered a tantalizing array of Levantine dishes, and I couldn't resist ordering a variety of mezze to start. The beef chops was tantalizing on the outside and tender on the inside, while the hummus was perfectly creamy and drizzled with fragrant olive oil. The shawarma bites were a revelation, with a delicious mix of minced meat and spices encased in a crunchy pita bread.
For the main course, I opted for the chicken tawook, salad stuffed eggplant, and they were a true masterpiece. The tender slices of seasoned meat were packed with flavor and paired wonderfully with a fresh and tangy tahini sauce. The portion size was generous, and I left with a happy, full belly.
The restaurant's decor transported me to a bustling Levantine street, with colorful lanterns and artwork adorning the walls. The attentive staff made the experience even better, offering recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were never empty. Kudos to Regina and Heidi for the utmost service and attention.
All in all, this Levantine gem delivered not only on its delectable cuisine but also on the overall ambiance and service. If you're looking for an authentic Levantine/Lebanese dining experience with exceptional food and a charming setting, this restaurant is...
Read moreI recently dined at Almayass with my friend Jean, located in the heart of Galleria Mall, Abu Dhabi, and had a fantastic experience overall. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming—attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was cozy yet modern, with soft lighting and tasteful décor that created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
The service was prompt and professional. Our attendants, Leo and AJ, checked in at just the right moments—never intrusive, always thoughtful. We truly appreciated the generous touches, like the complimentary bread and salad, a plateful of fresh fruits, and delicious oriental sweets served at the end of our meal. Their attention to our needs and comfort did not go unnoticed.
A highlight of the evening was a gentleman serenading guests from table to table with beautiful music. It added such a charming, personal element to the dining experience—I absolutely loved it!
The only minor downside was that it became a bit noisy as the evening progressed, so if you’re looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, an earlier reservation might be ideal. Given how busy it gets, booking in advance is definitely recommended.
Final Verdict: Delicious food, warm and attentive service, thoughtful extras, and great value for the quality. I’ll definitely...
Read moreGiven it’s reputation across the GCC, I had big expectations trying it for the first time at their new location. However, I must say these expectations were not met. Service: 4/5, the host and waiter were decent. They welcomed us and were attentive to all our requests and answers. Ambiance: 5/5 the ambiance is beautiful and very oriental, yet still contemporary. They also have a seating outdoors but the weather was rainy so we sat inside. Food: 2/5, the food was the biggest disappointment. Given that their signature dish is the cherry kebab, I was expecting the cherries and the sauce to be sour and the kebabs to be juicy. They were neither! The cherries were awfully sweet and completely overpowered the taste of the kebabs, which btw, were unseasoned, and dry. The kebabs were also cold which probably means that they were pre-cooked and then warmed up when served. The saffron rice was tasteless. The tabouleh was flavourful and the only thing I enjoyed. I also wanted to try their manti, given that it is a Lebanese-Armenian restaurant but they weren’t available. Pretty weird. Overall, disappointed, I had much better...
