•I was blown away by the first time I tried Bosnian Kababs/Cevapi in Global village, a few years back-2015. Their outlet is cowded and smokey with the open kitchen in front, which was a spectacle. They won the best restaurant award in 2016& 2018 in Global village. •After that I have tried them in Boxpark also & now in the new Dubai mall branch in Upper food court. On this day, I was wandering around , trying to decide what should I eat- all of a sudden I saw the familiar sight of a stylishly dressed Chef grilling a lot of medium sized kabab rolls remaining me of Global village. Without second thought I was drawn inside like being hypnotised . •My order was for the most popular Bosnian kababs of 300 yrs heritage. The quality of the kababs are decent, not heavy on the stomach. The special pillowy quality of the hot Breads- Somun/ Lepinje is very tasty - particularly liked it. The kababs come with chopped onions & fresh sour cream - again - was very very tasty- you can feel the creamy dairy taste in your mouth in each bite. And Ajvar sauce- it's a beautiful thick delicious but slightly Bland mix of eggplants/brinjal & red pepper. The pepper gives them the slight spicy taste, reddish colour and the eggplant gives them the spongy texture. A perfect accompaniment. •Coming to the famed kababs, it's not as spicy as the Indian kababs. Originally known as the Persian Kofta, they were brought to Bosnia & Sarajevo region by the Ottomans , approximately 300 yrs ago. More of a pure meat but very smooth version of it, slightly Bland in taste. Being small in sizes, you end up eating a lot in one go. I tried the child's plate version of it, which contained 8 pieces at 35 dhs. The full plate is 44 dhs & extra large plate at 52 dhs. •Frankly you might feel a bit dryness during this and so my hearty suggestion is to ask for a Mason jar of slightly salty Ayran/milk drink at 10 dhs to help downing the mouthful of kababs. The drink is quite a lot for only 10 dhs. •They also serve Borek, Baclava, other types of flat Kababs etc, which are to be explored on next visits. Prices are as expected in a premium place like Dubai Mall. •The cutleries have a heavy influence of mixed Arabic & European heritage. Looked like silverwares. Makes you curious to go diving into the history of these culinary expeditions. As the golden and red cushions are decorative stools and sofas take you to the old days of opulence. •Service was not bad for a busy place like this and decent. Some of the staffs are very polite. The classic East European white and red colourful dresses give a bright cheerful vibe to the place. And the large window like opening on one side, directly looking down upon the huge Olympic size skating ground, adds to the charm. •Recommended for a beautiful eating dining experience...
Read moreWhere to begin, from the day I got introduced to Bosnian Kabab in Global Village branch by a friendly staff in 2019 I always kindles in my taste buds but I have to describe my terrible experience in the Dubai Mall branch.
This happened today 31 May 2025 Dubai mall branch where I visited with my wife at around 2PM in the afternoon.
At the entrance I was greeted by the cashier who gave tremendous customer service and guide me to the dining area. The moment I tried to make order the Philippine lady staff in front of the desk, no greetings no smile with a very rude face handed over the menu card and turned her back on us. When we ordered she still with no smile still no hospitality. She banged the soft drink bottle on our table and left. By the time in front of us there was a staff standing called him loudly 5 time he didn't respond to my call he was looking at the phone and after 5 minutes came to me with a grin, where I asked him is there a hand wash location he said no and turned around and gave me wet wipes and left.
Food was delicious and absolutely 5 star taste but after the that for the payment he didn't give me the bill, charged my card crumbled and threw away the receipt without giving it to me. Once I'm on the way I got a message at 1439 that I was charged AED 204 for two kababs and two soft drinks which the total was AED 130 and I went back to cashier he guided me inside and I requested for the bill and he guided me to another lady and she said there was a mistake and gave away my AED 70 change all this after 15 minutes. What kind of scam is this happening in this place and staff were terrible at customer service. Yet I still tipped and came to send you guys this.
Please start a necessary investigation regarding the attempt of scam and the staff who attended us with zero customer service at 1439 May 31st 2025 this is Bosnian House's reputation is...
Read moreI ate here two times. One time I was sitting and all the dinner was nice and the dishes good. Unfortunately I returned a second time to eat takeaway and the experience was terrible. The waitress that served me spoke terrible english resulting in the wrong order. I only wanted a pita and she continued to talk about a combo and showed a big photo of the pita, so I said that the combo is my order. Only receiving the order I understood that I spent 50% more to pay a drink that I didn't want and not liked (Ayran). The photo explaining the combo isn't clear at all showing only the pita and there's something written below so small that is unreadable. My wife ordered a begova with meat that we also dropped. The puff pastry outside was dry outside and not cooked inside. Finally the waitress that served me (a blonde girl) was laughing all the time (laughing not smiling). I asked if some of her colleagues were joking with her because to me it is really strange that a waitress laughs in front of a customer since it isn't serious way of working. I don't know what she understood but she answered me in a very unpleasant tone that I have to wait for my order. To close the terrible experience the order arrived in pieces. The soup that I ordered arrived immediately together with the begova and I had to wait 20 minutes for the pita. This is unacceptable for a takeaway. If there's to wait it is courtesy to tell before and serve all the dishes together. All for 90 AED (35 for the useless Ayran). A...
