As a Mexican we are pleased to know that we have MEXICAN restaurants in Dubai. It is a great joy to know that we are going to eat well and that we are going to enjoy a beautiful and pleasant afternoon.
What did not happen to me with this restaurant. This is the WORST "Mexican Restaurant" there is, and I say this because this is not Mexican. the flavors are nothing like what they really are in my country.
These dishes with cheddar cheese, fries and nachos, if you know that in Mexico we don't consume nachos as if it were a festival??
The worst thing is that all the staff say they are Mexican and that their hotel has marked this restaurant scam as "MEXICAN" they use our culture and our gastronomy to make money (at least they did the Real Mexican food) but they do it wrong, Sali very upset about that place because many people who know me have recommended that place to me and it was the worst decision I've ever made.
I do not recommend it, people who really know about Mexican food should not accept this as Mexican
It is the worst disappointment. This is junk food. They should change the name of Mexican restaurant to Tex-Mex restaurant, that would be its appropriate category.
If you want good Mexican food I invite you to try a restaurant in DIFC called COPALA RESTAURANT, (that restaurant is REAL MEXICAN CUISINE) approved 100%
Stop occupying my culture and my gastronomy to do. business. and if you plan to do a minimum business, respect our customs and culture (which unlike TEX-MEX food, Mexico has a lot) so much so that we are recognized by UNESCO: Intangible Cultural...
Read moreTruly disappointed with the experience. If it was not for the quality of food, the overall rating would have been lower. This is not our first time there, but definitely seems like our last.
Arrived at 1:25pm for a 1:30pm booking - place was almost deserted with one other family of 6 at the table. No welcome, no greetings. There was a waiter, who at the time was alone, running around the place.
After being seated, he gave us the menu, but failed to give my 6 year old a kids menu - which we had to ask for. Tables were barren with no cutlery or table mats. The furniture and surroundings looked outdated and rustic, but not in a good way.
After about 15 minutes, a 'manager' comes and takes our order. He notes our requirements, but then disappears in the midst of us mentioning what we wanted for beverages.
After another 15 minutes, someone comes along and starts placing table mats and cutlery on the table. As seen on the attached picture, my knife was dirty with some stain on it. We had to request a replacement.
Almost 45 minutes and our food is nowhere to be seen. When we asked the waiter, he said the kitchen was busy and that the food was being prepared - surprising considering we were the second set of customers there. We were at least expecting the complimentary nachos and salsa that is usually served. It did arrive, but was served along with the main course. A truly disappointing experience.
Having said that, the food was top notch, both in quality and quantity. Unfortunately, I do not believe it makes up for the lack of...
Read moreA weird resto bar that has disco lights inside that apparently can't be turned off even if they're bothering customers. The food is alright, probably the only good part tbh. The drinks are nothing special. Our waitress was really strange where when she was serving food at the table, my friend's phone was in the way and she picked it up to move it. My friend then (while laughing) jokingly said "you can take my phone" or something along those lines, after which she got extremely offended and told him that she wouldn't do that and she's not that kind of person to which he let her know that it was just a joke and also apologised to her. She said it was not right of him to say that to her and she can get her own phone if she needs and doesn't need his. At this point we all let her know that it was just a joke and all apologised to her but she continued to let us know she was offended, continuously dismissed our apologising and said that it wasn't a funny joke before storming off. After this point we got a new waitress for our table and we were glad to because, even if the joke wasn't funny to her, I don't know what more we could have done than apologise to her. Bit of a drama queen and kind of ruined our night. I guess she had a bad day and decided to take it out on her...
