First of all, the place is very calm and quiet. It’s a hidden spot that you can enjoy for Thai food. We were greeted by the nice hostess and she’s very graceful about her work. We had our server Indian guy who is very nice to give recommendations as we’re new to the place but not into Thai cuisine.
We ordered Thai chicken curry, crispy prawn both are good, we ordered virgin piña colada and specifically mentioned non-alcoholic. It was made good.
We asked for the bill. I don’t normally check the itemization of the bills, but something took my attention and it was the piña colada which charged me 50AED for non-alcoholic beverage. Which is impossible, I can understand if the place is like Pai Thai which is an amazing Thai restaurant in that I am willing to spend for it. But even Pai Thai which very well known Thai restaurant in Dubai don’t charge this much for their non-alcohol beverage. Now we paid the bill, while leaving I approach our server and asked about it. As I go through their mocktails menu and its average of 28aed-35aed, as per the server it was instructed by the bartender to charge us the same as alcoholic piña colada. Our server apologized about it, I told him we don’t need refund for 12aed, I’d rather give it as a tip or more but this is something related to integrity if other guest will not notice it, it means you guys are over charging the guests. While also discussing with our server the bartender interrupt our conversation just to tell his colleague that other table the guest wants to order drink. Not even saying excuse me, and he mentioned that they don’t do non-alcohol piña colada with the non-alcoholic price and it has to be the same price. I have never seen a bartender who is not being flexible for the guest request when it comes to drink, also he didn’t even apologize instead he is trying to tell us that he is right and we are wrong. We don’t normally complain as we are also working in the same field, but this is something that manager should look into it and train the team to be more hospitable and respectful to their guests. Specially your Filipino bartender he need to know first how to listen and be respectful when guest and other colleagues are talking. Apologies can make things better but defending and making us feel that you are right it shows that you’re not well trained enough to be in the industry that you’re working on.
To our Indian server can’t remember your name. You handled us so well, you know what you’re doing. Thanks for...
Read moreZERO STARS - ABSOLUTELY BAD FOOD AND APPALLING SERVICE I'm still fuming after the horrific dining experience at [Restaurant Name]. The Gar Hoi Bai Toey (leaf-wrapped chicken) was an absolute abomination - rancid, smelling atrociously bad, and the meat was a revolting dark black color. When I questioned the waiter about it, she had the audacity to claim it was due to marination. Are they kidding me?! The dark color had nothing to do with marination; it was clearly spoiled. The Golden Bags were another disaster. The frozen shrimp were deep-fried, but you could still feel the chill inside. They were overwhelmingly salty, and it was evident they had been sitting in the freezer for far too long. Not fresh at all. When I complained, the waiter's lack of concern and apology was staggering. She seemed completely unbothered by the fact that she was serving spoiled food. The supervisor eventually sent the chef to our table, who half-heartedly apologized for the mishap. Unbelievable. What's even more shocking is that despite the apparent issues with the food, we were still charged for it. I was charged for one of the Golden Bags, despite it being frozen and stale. And the rancid chicken? Charged for that too. Are they profiting off serving bad food? As a cook myself, I know the difference between fresh and stale, and I can confidently say that the food served was subpar and unsafe. The lack of quality control is appalling, especially considering the high prices. To add insult to injury, the restaurant manager wasn't available during peak lunch hours to address customer concerns. I was told they'd call me back, but radio silence. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Given the severity of the issues, I'd expect a full refund, a personal apology, and some assurance that they'll revamp their quality control processes. Until then, I'd advise everyone to steer clear of this restaurant. AVOID THIS PLACE...

My visit to Bambooda Thai Fusion at Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan Dubai was nothing short of spectacular.
Located on the ground floor (lobby level), this restaurant transports you straight to Thailand with its breathtaking ambience. The moment you step in, you’re greeted by lush greenery, serene ponds filled with colourful fish, and intricate wooden decorations, including a charming bridge over the water.
The glass ceiling is a masterpiece, allowing natural daylight to illuminate the space during the day and offering a stunning clear sky view at night.
The design perfectly replicates an authentic Thai nature retreat, making it ideal for a relaxing yet luxurious dining experience.
The service was impeccable, attentive, friendly, and well-paced. The seating arrangement is thoughtfully designed, with tables evenly spaced for privacy and comfort.
Now, onto the food, each dish was a delight! We started with the Tom Yam Goong soup, which had the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and aromatic flavours. The Poo Ja dim sum was served with a BBQ sauce instead of the traditional sweet soy garlic sauce as written in the menu . It was mild, and we commented to the restaurant. For our salad, we chose the Yam Talay (seafood salad), and it was a refreshing, flavorful choice. The BamKhow Pad Goong (shrimp fried rice) was another highlight perfectly cooked with generous portions of shrimp and fragrant Thai spices.
Overall, Bambooda Thai Fusion offers an unforgettable dining experience with excellent food, mesmerizing ambience, and top-notch service.
Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine in a...
