Fogueira Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Dubai

There are only a handful of Brazilian barbecue houses in Dubai and Ramada in JBR contains the best that I have tried so far in Dubai, that being Fogueira. The food and beverage manager is Brazilian and this undoubtedly plays a huge part in the quality of the food that is served at Fogueira. Many restaurants that offer a similar concept, serves meat that are overcooked, dry and tough to eat at as a result, but everything here is the complete opposite. All the meats that I tried were tasty, tender and juicy.

The servers here work extremely fast and they are already bringing you another choice of meat even before you have had the chance to even look at eating what you have on your plate, better keep the red stop sign handy! I had mine on green the whole night and the meat was coming non stop.

I really enjoyed the Brazilian style cocktails here that I got an opportunity to try before they launch for their national day celebration from Sept 7-9. Having traditional Brazilian drinks adds another level of authenticity to the experience and it made it that much more wonderful.

Fogueira is located on the 35th floor of the building and boasts a fantastic terrace for you to enjoy the winter months. It was still a little too hot when i went, but soon the weather will be perfect.

The salad bar was also a nice change to eating meat all night, although the selection was not that big, but that is fine, I didn't come here to eat salad.

There is also live entertainment throughout the evening and the singers did a fairly excellent job of keeping the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant up. I believe they do take requests, but they didn't know the one that I wanted.

If you have any special requests, the staff will do their best to accommodate which is just amazing.

All in all it was a great experience and I wouldn't look anywhere else for the moment when I think of...

We had high hopes celebrating our birthdays at Fogueira, especially after speaking with Jasmine from reservations who was incredibly helpful, detailed, and accommodating. She clearly explained the Platinum BOGO and 40% discounts and even sent us the menu via WhatsApp. This level of service made us cancel our other reservations with Anise, Fogo De Chao, and Feast.

Sadly, the experience took a disappointing turn when it came to billing. Despite having two separate bookings as advised, the manager, Alberto, refused to honour what their reservation confirmed us, discounts because the tables were joined. Instead of listening or offering a solution, he was defensive, dismissive, and even dishonest about how we were seated (we have video proof showing otherwise).

What should have been a joyful evening turned into a stressful 1-hour argument — over AED 180 difference. Not because of the money, but due to the complete lack of professionalism and empathy from the manager. Thankfully, Shaaban, one of the staff, stepped in and resolved it with understanding, but the damage was done.

We’ve lived in Dubai for over 20 years and have never experienced such poor managerial handling. It’s a shame, because the food and entertainment were excellent. But due to this unfortunate treatment, I won’t be recommending Fogueira to...
