I just went there tonight and i was extremely disappointed Horrible ambiance, totally messed up place with a weird lay-out Bad food: i've had some octopus from the salad bar which was full of sandy grains( not cleaned well) and tough as leather( the cheap rubbery kind), even the easiest recipes were messed up somehow, like the hummus which was horrible, the Indian food section was totally unappetizing! The chinese section was mostly empty when i got there, and the cook working inside and prepping the food put a filthy serving spoon back into a fresh pot of food. Only good-ish things i've had were the crab soup and the Thai prawn soup Disgusting sweets: the black forrest cake had an extremely bitter and metallic flavor which ruined my taste buds, the tarts had a tough as bricks crust, the lemon tart had lemon filling that was way too thick and too sour and the meringue on top was grainy! The little sweets in a cup were all disturbingly awful! And the guy working the ice-cream station had given me ice-cream in a dirty bowl and was totally rude about giving me chocolate ice-cream from a machine not from the fresh stuff coz he didn't wanna bother explaining to me that what i was pointing at was actually date not chocolate since it was all poorly labeled Worst Ramadan eftar buffet i've had, and what a shame! The hotel...
Read moreMy husband called here prior reservation and the le meridien reception confirmed to him entertainer can be used for the friday seafood buffet with alcohol package, and it starts from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. We booked for 6:30 and went, booking under my husband’s name and we mentioned we have entertainer. The restaurant reception showed us the package and we chose 385 with alcohol. We sat and ate. The food is really good (oysters and grilled seafood the best!), I even told my friends about this place. The service staff are friendly and helpful, i give them 5stars for that. Everything was great until around past 9pm a staff gave us our bill even without us asking for it, and the bill is for the full amount. We found out that we cannot use entertainer. Billed us for the full amount and that they cannot do anything but give us 20% discount only. After few more back & forth, even the le meridien reception called my husband explaining they never mentioned we can use entertainer, which is I believe is not true, they arranged for us to pay the non alcohol buffet with entertainer and extra 200 for the alcohol. My entire experience with their food and service is really really good, but at the end I will not want to come back here. We have money to pay but not happy with the misinformation. Bad experience for first time...
Read moreThis is a review of the bubbalicious brunch. At 650 with free flowing laurent perrier bubbly, this isn't an every friday kind of thing.. unless you don't fancy a savings account or you're one of those DIFC british execs who can't breathe on a friday unless frequenting an all you can brunch. Maybe once a year or so for me. But take a look at the pics. Dungeonous crab and atlantic lobster, a pork buffet, rotating sushi belt, authentic thai curries, premium steaks, foie gras, scallops, a huge oyster bar, desserts as far as the eye can see. This is culinary hedonism at its most extreme. Everything is delicious but you really have to choose wisely what you go for. Eat 4 or 5 of your favorites, not 20 or 30 of things you like and or may like. That's the fastest way to ruin a brunch. Avoid shawarma and other local staples that you can get elsewhere for 10 dirhams. That's how they get you and save money on their end. Best thing to do after the gluttony ends at 4 or so with a head full of champagne is to take a nice long nap.. great way to spend a...
