An Unforgettable Birthday: Five-Star Excellence at Ponte Vecchio
We recently chose Ponte Vecchio to celebrate my wife, Gill's, birthday, and it proved to be a genuinely flawless and unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped across the threshold, the afternoon felt curated and special—a true testament to an establishment that understands fine dining goes beyond just the plate.
The service we received was unequivocally five-star. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, anticipating needs before we even had to ask. Their attention to detail was apparent in every thoughtful touch, especially in how they handled Gill's birthday celebration. The seamless, personal touches made her feel truly celebrated, elevating the entire evening into a cherished memory.
The quality of the food was sublime. The menu is a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine, but what truly distinguishes Ponte Vecchio is its deep commitment to locally sourced ingredients. The freshness of the produce, from the seasonal vegetables to the West Country meats and fish, shone through in every dish. Knowing that our meal was built upon the finest offerings from local farmers, butchers and suppliers added a wonderful layer of appreciation to the culinary experience. This focus on regional sourcing is clearly not a gimmick, but a pillar of their exceptional quality.
Whether it was the perfectly al dente pasta, the rich depth of the sauces, or the impeccably balanced wine pairing suggested by our waiter, the attention to detail in the kitchen was evident. Every plate was presented with precision, and the execution of classic dishes was faultless.
Ponte Vecchio is more than just a restaurant; it is a meticulously managed destination that delivers world-class service and exceptional food quality with a passionate commitment to its local surroundings. We cannot recommend it...

Ok, let me prefix this review by saying im notnthe biggest fan of Italian food. My wife makes amazing Italian so id rather go out and enjoy Asian or Indian Cuisine.
This though was AMAZING!!!!
Wed come to Bath for our wedding anniversary and thought wed have Italian for a change.
Firstly, the restaurant is set on the river and the views are stunning and restaurant is beautiful.
Secondly the staff are fantastic, so so friendly and knowledgeable. Really 5 star service. Honestly the welcome is probably more than youd get visiting your favourite Auntie!
Now onto the food. As I previously stated, im not a massive Italin fave but this nissan in my top 5 meals ever:
Calamonki: stunningly presented and absolutely fantastic. Best Calamari ever ever had.
Tagliere Del Ponte: faultless selection of meats and cheese and the blue cheese was a show stopper.
Taglioni Al Nero Di Seppia: black squid ink pasta, with Argentinian prawns and Nduja!!! Breathtakingly good and best pasta dish ive ever had. Worss do not do justice to how amazing this was. I dont want to eat pasta again after this as it wont compare!!!
Ragu D'Agnello: mouth watering and gorgeously rich!
Dark Chocolate Cheesecake: outrageously good!
Hazelnut Espresso Martini: better than at most cocktail bars!!!
All in all.an extraordinary good experience that ticked every box and then times'd it by 10000000x
Seriously if I ever want an Italian meal id be tempted to get a 2 hr train ride there and back as it'd be worth it!
Thank you so much for one of my best...

We visited Ponte Vecchio on a buzzing Friday night during one of the hottest days of the year, and what an incredible evening it was! Despite the heat and how busy the restaurant was, the entire team were nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of that unmistakable Italian charm. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. It felt like we were dining in the heart of Italy rather than Bath! A special thank you to Alex, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
The food? Authentically Italian and absolutely delicious. Even with the kitchen running at around 40°C (The chefs must’ve been on fire!) the dishes that came out were full of flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. It’s clear the chefs take real pride in their work, and we weren’t the only ones who thought so. We overheard other tables singing the restaurant’s praises too.
We had a truly memorable evening and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a genuine Italian dining experience with incredible food, a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere, and outstanding service, Ponte Vecchio is the place to go.
Grazie mille to...
