I’ve been a loyal Krispy Kreme customer for years and rarely leave disappointed, but my recent visit left much to be desired, particularly regarding one of their seasonal doughnuts: The Pistachio Overload.
The doughnut I received was a far cry from what was advertised. Visually, it was underwhelming, almost careless in execution. Mine — and others on display — had noticeable scratches, a lack of finish, and most importantly, were missing the pistachio pieces on top, which are not only a key selling point but also a critical flavour and texture component.
While the doughnut’s base flavour was decent, it didn’t live up to expectations. The absence of the pistachio topping significantly reduced its impact, both in taste and visual appeal. Frankly, that element could have elevated the doughnut by at least 70%, based on promotional description.
This experience was particular surprising coming from a brand I’ve consistently trusted. Unfortunately, this product felt rushed, lazy and incomplete. At its current quality, the product is simply not worth the price.
Unless improvements are made to ensure consistency between marketing and final product, I can’t recommend this seasonal doughnut. A missed opportunity from a brand that usually...
Read moreKrispy Kreme at New Street Station is at a very convenient location and when in town you can go and take some doughnuts in a box for home. The doughnuts are always fresh and absolutely delicious, you can't go wrong there. The big issue with this Krispy Kreme location is the staff. If you go through the other reviews many people have that issue. When I entered I wasn't greeted at all, I tried to order what I wanted but was interrupted by a large built woman who had a miserable face on. Apparently I was blocking the way? I was standing at their counter trying to order some doughnuts. After I moved, I asked if I can order now. She replied annoyed that I can. The other member of staff didn't say much but at least wasn't rude to the customers. Considering the hefty price you pay for a few doughnuts I'd recommend to improve the customer service. Many Tesco stores offer Krispy Kreme nowadays so from now on I will go there instead of the main Krispy Kreme shop. At least there's no rude staff there who make you feel like you are not the customer but more like you work for them and you have done something wrong... I only give three stars because the doughnuts are delicious. Visited...
Read moreI cannot stress how much Aaron's kindness meant to me today. I can see from other reviews that I'm not alone in this opinion. This morning I was super stressed and sleep deprived after nearly missing my flight and travelling through the night. I was pretty fed up with everyone. However, then I decided to go in and buy a doughnut for my friend as a celebration for her starting work tomorrow, Krispy Kremes are her favourite, especially since she's vegan and normally can't eat doughnuts. Best decision I could've made. Not only did I get a well-made mocha I sorely needed, and a heartwarming conversation, when Aaron heard why I wanted the doughnuts and that there were no Krispy Kreme shops on the isle of man, they were shockingly generous. Their vulnerability, gentleness and kindness is astounding and rare, and it must be exhausting keeping it up in a railway station. Genuinely made my day, and I've been able to bless others too with my doughnuts which has been so precious. I truly wish them the absolute best and sincerely hope they receive the same appreciation and kindness that they so freely give out...
