Unprofessional and Discriminatory Delivery Experience

This review serves as a dire warning against the appalling service received from an unidentified delivery driver and restaurant. The incident has left us feeling discriminated against and utterly disgusted.

Upon arrival, the driver was observed parked in front of a open pedestrian gate. Despite clearly seeing me waiting outside holding the door open for him, he refused to step out of his vehicle and demanded that we come to him. When I’ve explained that the card scanner was not working and would have been locked out as it could only be opened remotely from the inside, he became confrontational, giving us an ultimatum to fetch our food or he would drive away.

Disgusted by his laziness and unprofessionalism, we instructed him to leave. Subsequently, we contacted the restaurant only to be gaslighted about the situation. The staff insisted that it was impossible for the driver to have walked through the open pedestrian gate, despite the fact that we had been patiently waiting outside.

Their discriminatory behavior was further highlighted when they suggested that we were unable to walk a couple of steps, even though we had clearly demonstrated that the gate was our only means of access. The driver's refusal to fulfill his duty and the restaurant's blatant disregard for our experience left us feeling profoundly disrespected and undervalued.

The delivery was 50 mins late. Then the driver finally called me and started saying 'do you want the food or not otherwise I'm just going to leave'. He was shouting at me didn't once apologise about how late the food was. When I got upset at his behaviour he started shouting at me then saying 'he wasn't going to give me my food'. Then he called back and said 'do you want your food or what' (exact words). When I went outside to get my food he still was refusing to give me my food that I had already paid for and that was 50 mins over the latest delivery time given. He kept shouting 'you should have called the restaurant its nothing to do with me'. I called them about 15 times on 3 different numbers which I had to search for and no one was answering. It was the right number because I has called earlier to ask for extra chilli sauce and they answered then. Which I explained. Then again instead of saying sorry your order was so late he kept holding my food hostage saying 'do you want it or not'. Even though I had told him 'I did' he kept it hostage still. He was refusing to give me the food that I had already paid for, shouting at me and in all of this never once acknowledged let alone apologised for how late the delivery was. I will admit it did get to a point where I swore at him but trust me this PRICK deserves much worse. Then on top of all of this at the end (after I finally got my food) he told me it's his bloody restaurant and he can do whatever he likes. On top of all of this the food was literally awful and cold. We ordered at 1.36am. 3am came around and no food! We rang the company and they said they had tried to ring us, and came to the front door and no one answered. Well, we were sat at home waiting for our food to arrive, waiting for a call and NOTHING. At 3am we rang and asked where our food was and they said they had tried to deliver and would send a fresh order in 30mins to apologise for inconvenience. This was at about 3am. 3.30am came around and still no food. 3.40am the delivery guy rang my phone number to say he was outside and showed up and we said we would only pay £20 for the late delivery/rude staff/disgusting service so they took the food away and left. We live in a bugalow with a cul-de-sac so we see all cars coming and going and never once did we see a car attempt to make a delivery earlier on in the evening. Also, they claimed to have rang my number when they attempted to make the initial delivery and no one answered, yet when they made a phone call the second time around to say they were on the way/had arrived, they had no problem connecting the call and to tell us the delivery had arrived.
