Ye Olde Black Boy (grade ll listed) Is a stunning unspoiled pub on high street. The building dating back to the 1700s, in victorian times it was a wine merchants. It was refitted in 1926, the wine merchants office became the front smoke room and the warehouse became the rear bar. A passageway down the left hand side leads to a cosy front parlour with a serving Hatch and a large bar at the back with a model railway running round the ceiling. Read moreReally dissappointed with this pub, been in a few times and i would have given it a higher score but i and a friend were in there on Wednesday 14 .3.18 and both of us were not immpressed the beer was that disgusting both of us left over half a pint after after a couple of sips and we are ex forces who would drink engine oil but that stuff they served up was not very nice my friends lager was cloudy and my bitter tasted like dirty washing up water yuk and we were charged £8,70 for two pints we went to the Manchester Arms and got a beautiful pint i will never go back to Ye...
Read moreYe olde black boy is one of my favourite real ale pub in hull. I went in recently and was pleasantly surprised to see it had a new owner and the bar area i was in had a makeover. At the bar the super real ales were still there, but some of the modern ipa's and ciders were there for those who prefer. The management were keen and pleasant and the place was busy. I would highly recommend a visit to this historic old town pub on high st, but do check the opening hours and they aren't as regular as all day...
