Terrible experience!!
We visited them on 11/01/2024, the cakes in the display fridge looked beautiful, they are expensive, but an underwhelming taste. The staff was the worst, rude, disrespectful and she went to the extent of mocking us racially.
We ordered a vanilla chai latte, chocolate milkshake and red velvet cake. Their machine was not accepting my card when I asked if the machine was working fine politely the lady rudely replied āits your card thats not workingā, then we realised i needed to use chip and pin instead of tap and go. Fair enough my card had an issue.
Vanilla chai latte was underwhelming, they gave us a worst chocolate milkshake when we went and asked the lady to fix it, she gave us terrible look and dināt really take our feedback well. Anyway they fixed it and brought us another milkshake, still not great but much better than the previous version.
I found a half inch thread (plastic) sort of a thing in the red velvet cake. When we reported it the lady simply said āI donāt know, may be some one put itā meaning she accused us of putting something in the cake. Her comments absolute blew my mind, after a bit of an argument she gave my money back for the cake.
We sat down to finish coffee and milkshake, the lady was serving someone on the table next to us she turns to us and sarcastically asks āBhai saab.. how is your coffee and milkshakeā i got soo pissed but said āits okā she goes āI dint prepare the cake, Iāll tell the lady that prepared itā.. We just finished our drinks and ran out.
It took me a day to digest those events and write reviews. Its ok if the food tastes underwhelming but the staff treatment towards us customers was absolutely terrible, shocking and never experienced before. Donāt...
Read moreThe cakes were inedible. They were listed at a reduced price (c£8 to c£6 each) at the end of the day, which turned out to mean not that they were trying to shift today's fresh goods before they went off, but trying to shift yesterday's (at least) already-off, frozen-defrosted goods. We didn't choose them for the reduced price, but because we wanted those flavours - the reduction was coincidental. We asked politely for a refund after a spoonful of each, but were told that only a manager could authorise this, and there wasn't one available. The cream was solidified, the mousse was chewy, and the fruit was shrivelled, but we were told that this was because they "weren't fresh" - not what I'd expect any cafe to sell without a clear warning about quality. Not impressed at all. After ten minutes of discussion, we were finally given replacements (lower priced cakes) which did taste fairly fresh, but don't try anything here unless you're sure it's been made today. Even so, not convinced they were worth the price.
Update after reply: Not a competitor, just a disappointed customer. I don't think I should have to ask questions to be sure that food for sale is fresh and edible. I don't say nobody should buy here, I just think you should check that the food is fresh, as stale food was on sale...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid! I ordered the Cajun chicken wrap and a latte. There was a problem with the card machine (like other reviews) so I just paid cash. I waited 25 minutes despite only one other table waiting for food. I was tired after a flight but this was lunchtime. As I looked around even I started to wonder why it was so quiet and where my food was. The Cajun chicken wrap was horrible. It was more veggies than chicken. The veggies were a strange mixture including carrots and tasted strongly of vinegar. It was as if they had pickled all the veggies to stop them going off. The whole wrap was smothered in a light coloured sauce. I could only eat the part of the wrap with chicken as the pickled veggies were so bad. The coffee was perfectly fine. I wish I had read other reviews before eating here. It will however be the first...
