Now ten...if you are stuck for a breakfast or brunch venue in Glasgow (probably not, I know), then I can't recommend this place enough. Unassuming from the outside, it sports a lovely atmosphere, tasteful decoration and tasty, nay delicious, nosh inside.
We booked and were sat near the front - our lovely son and his equally (arguably, more) delightful partner . Every time the door opened, ankles were frozen, so when I noticed a party near the back leaving, I asked to be moved and we duly were. So. Much. Better.
The menu is relatively simple, and I like that. Just enough choice to keep you guessing, but as it turned out everyone's food was amazing. I had the Nduja (poached eggs on toast with Nduja rub) chillies, and a side of haggis. Two had the Salsiccia (spicy sausages & eggs) and finally the Sorriso (eggs, potato rosti & guacamole). Tasty, well-presented, hot, no complaints at all. Special mention for the coffee as well - very good.
Tummies full, we set off for a rare treat - One Under Glasgow. This is an underground crazy golf location on Albion Street - literally one street over from Sorriso. Christ, we were rubbish...but that's for...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this little cafe's quality of food and service. Being Italian makes me very critical of Italian food and dishes and I normally tend not to go out for Italian restaurants, but this time I decided to try this place out anyway and I actually can recommend it to anybody who is fond of a light meal. The pasta was freshly cooked, not precooked and then heated up (yes, you can tell the difference) and the green sauce was not smothering it and it was well orchestrated with olives and tomatoes. I also had eggs on sourdough with halloumi and it was very well made. The waitress was lovely and the interior design of the cafe does relax you, all white and flowery. The coffee was a bit too long, having asked for espresso, but it was strong and not watery so I was fine with it....
Read moredo not sleep on this lovely establishment ! we had never been here or heard of this place until we walked in but i’m so glad we did
the people working there were so friendly and welcoming and the food ( and coffee !) was beautiful
they make everything from scratch, right down to the dressings. the salmon and guacamole i had was so fresh and vibrant; totally full of flavour and everything complimented each other so well
i just feel like every element of the meal was exactly what you would want: portion size, temperature, flavour and variety
we'll definitely be back !
(edit: we had no problem getting served quickly but ive seen some reviews saying it look a little longer than theyd expect for the food to come but honestly its worth the wait cus oh my gosh that food...
