Like come on man they could BITE MY LEG OFF IN ONE BITE!!!! LIKE WHAT!! 2. I orded the Ferrero Rocher ice cream and look at the pic below or above or at the left or at the right. My experience at Taj Mahal Restaurant was deeply disappointing. We visited late on a Monday night, one of the few available dining options near our hotel. From the moment we entered, hygiene concerns arose as we witnessed a waiter picking his nose in front of customers. The food quality was subpar. The lamb sizzler was tough and tasted stale, far from the authentic flavors I expected. The paneer tikka seemed pan-fried with artificial coloring rather than proper seasoning. The speed at which the dishes arrived (within 5-10 minutes) suggested they were neither fresh nor properly cooked. Service was equally poor. Despite not informing us of an impending closure, staff rushed us, repeatedly asking to clear our table while we were still eating. Overall, the experience was unsatisfactory, and I left with concerns about food safety and hygiene.

I was searching for a halal restaurant in Buxton travelling past from London and finally found the perfect spot to satisfy my cravings. I ordered a lamb curry with naan and plain rice, and it was delicious, I also ordered a buttermilk chicken. The restaurant even included an extra portion of rice and naan for me to take home with my leftovers. As it was my first visit, they kindly offered me a complimentary ice cream, which was a lovely touch and tasted amazing! The service was excellent, and the location is conveniently situated on a high street with plenty of parking. The only minor drawback was that the lamb was slightly tougher than I prefer, as I usually opt for softer cuts. However, overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great curry experience.

So so in my opinion. If I was to base my review in my most recent visit it would be 2 stars due to the fact that the food arrived in 3 minutes and the staff closed the restaurant early despite being stated as open until 10pm on google. It was clear they just wanted to close early because I was the only customer. Not the greatest food this time but it was edible. On previous visits this restaurant has been fine and worthy of 4 stars. Just not this time as I was rushed and made to even drink my pint of beer quickly that I had not long since purchased. Left at 9pm and will try other restaurants in Buxton before returning here.

I have since returned with a much better experience. Even though my friend and myself were the only people in the restaurant, they took had on board my previous comments and did not try to rush us out of the door. The food was excellent so I have uprated my review back to 5 star.

Sticking to advertised opening hours is important for people who are often on the road and using online information for planning. I hope to return here when I am...

After an enforced change of plans we were looking for a place to eat in Buxton on Saturday 14th Oct. We fancied Indian food but didn't really want a takeaway to take back to our motorhome since we'd already had to go off our site to find somewhere in town (there being no phone signal HAHA) and had just managed to get her parked up in a safe spot nearby.

We walked into Taj Mahal, un-optimistically, as we could see even at 6.15 it was very busy (there was a private party in the back area). They thought that we could only have a takeaway but then quickly found a possible table upstairs if we didn't mind sharing (we didn't) and then almost immediately created a space downstairs!

So we sat down and ordered what turned out to be some of the best Indian food we've eaten for ages, along with friendly service (despite the challenge of the private hen/bachelor party!). We did have to sit in a pretty high-traffic area but under the circumstances they did us proud! When next back in Buxton we will book ahead for...
