Ate here a couple of nights ago. Had a very odd experience trying to book a table by phone- we were arriving in half an hour on the same day, but instead of explaining that it would be fine to walk in, the lady hung up on me.
We went anyway. Its quite a big restaurant; the decor was really nice and lots of guests. However there were only two servers, which made it really difficult when you wanted to catch them for something as they were busy with other people. Plus, ours didn't chat to us or ask how the food was.
The lamb shank penang curry tasted nice (on the sweeter and milder side FYI) and was cooked so it was tender but it was lukewarm. The Laab chicken minced salad was ok- very spicy (a lot of red chillies as expected from the ingredient listing) but appeared to be missing the ground rice as stated on the menu. The stir fry duck was good, the chicken satay mediocre- needed more flavour. Would not recommend any dish with tofu as it was just too bland. The tofu satay was stone cold which they refunded. Although the curry base was nice in the tofu curry, the tofu was not.
Overall mediocre: 5/10. Been to far better Thai restaurants and the service...
Read moreI've just had the pleasure of dining at Thai Square Minories in London with my partner, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting, and the staff, particularly our waitress Brooklyn, made the evening truly memorable.
Brooklyn's service was not only professional but also exceptionally kind and attentive. The culinary journey at Thai Square was nothing short of fantastic. We indulged in a delicious Pad Thai that was bursting with flavors, and the Red Chicken Curry was a true highlight—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced.
The attention to detail in both service and cuisine showcased the commitment to excellence at Thai Square. The menu offered a delightful variety, and the quality of the dishes exceeded our expectations.
Overall, our dining experience at Thai Square was five-star worthy. I highly recommend Thai Square to anyone seeking an authentic and delightful Thai dining experience in London.
Kudos to Brooklyn and the entire team at...
Read moreThe restaurant makes a strong first impression with its stylish interior and elegant lighting but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The receptionist was cold and unwelcoming. At first, I brushed it off as asian efficiency, but the server's attitude crossed the line into outright rudeness.
I ordered a vegetarian jungle curry, jasmine rice, and tap water, simple enough, yet the server’s demeanor made me feel as if I had wasted his time. For reference, this modest order still totaled £25, with the jasmine rice alone costing £5, easily the most expensive bowl of rice I’ve ever had.
The jungle curry was a complete disappointment. It was utterly flavorless apart from spicy, best described as chilli paste diluted in water with a pinch of salt. The tofu and vegetables were bland and unpleasant, and I couldn’t even finish the meal.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place, you’re not missing anything but a bad...
