Crown - Cafe Português — Restaurant in London

Crown - Café Português has a fabulous location, nestled between Somerset House and One Aldwych, making it a convenient stop for anyone exploring the area. What surprised me most was the very affordable pricing for such a prime spot in central London. However, the food quality was reflective of its low price point, and unfortunately, it left much to be desired.

I opted for the cooked breakfast, consisting of two eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast. While the eggs were nicely done, the rest of the meal fell short. The bacon was lukewarm and undercooked, leaving the fat unpleasantly unrendered. Worse still, the sausage was ice-cold, which really put a damper on the experience.

On the brighter side, the coffee was decent, but at £4 for a black Americano, I expected a bit more in terms of quality. It wasn't terrible, just not quite worth the price tag. The service was pleasant and friendly, which is a plus, but overall, the quality of the food was disappointing.

Propa decent cafe!

All I wanted was a decent sandwich and that's exactly what I got.

Staff are really friendly and helpful offering you whatever you want , double check in that exactly what you want.

A proper decent selection of sandwich fillings I went for the old school chicken and sweet corn which you honestly couldn't fault I've got a large bap and it was enough for me lunch.

I'm glad I came here and didn't go into one of the chains because there is a absolutely every chain imaginable nearby.

The place is immaculate toilets are immaculate the basement downstairs is very clean honestly couldn't fault this place real nice place to be on the strand very family orientated fresh ingredients really nice very clean very nice atmosphere a fraction of what you'd pay for lunch anywhere else around here if you was to be on the strand.

Fernandos ‘the manager’ is a bloody legend & that chicken escalope they serve at this place is a 5 star dish. From the owner to the chef to the supervisors to the team members everyone who works at this place deserve recognition. Crown is a well maintained, well presented average sized cafe and if you happen to walk pass it 6 o clock in the morning you’d see the effort that goes behind it to make things look the way you see them when you come for breakfast or lunch.
