Dragon Inn Club — Restaurant in London

I came here to celebrate my birthday, we booked in for 13 people. The kids arrived there between 7.30-8pm to set up and place order for the roast duck in hope it will be served as soon as all the guests arrived. This did not happen even though they asked for it to be served as soon as possible. We made drinks order first, they did not have any ginger ale but didn’t care to inform us when they served the drinks, the Asian waiter only told us after we had asked where is the missing drink. We order hot pot for half the guests and the other half had main dishes… the duck came 15 minutes after we ordered our main food. The duck comes with 12 pancakes (for a whole duck) is shocking as we asked for more pancakes and got charged, this same duck that’s advertised as cooked 3 ways, pancake wrap, lettuce wrap and something else but we obviously did not see the last one as it did not get served. Now for the messed up bit of serving our mains, they bought out dishes but no rice, rice then comes but we are missing fried rice, I enquire as to where the fried rice is and they add it on like I wanted an extra portion… the waiter brings out our steam fish, does not know how to ask us to make some space for him to place down on table, proceeds to get between me and one of my guests and holds it at a bad angle… the soy sauce spills onto my guests and splashes on me! Not only did not apologise, he thought it was funny when I told him I would bill him for my trousers if I can’t get the stain out… also one of the fish was under cooked, still raw in the middle, they took it off the bill and did not charge for this. It’s more to do with the other cheeky waiter who ask us do we want the same fish or should they make a new one, told him take it off the bill as one raw fish is enough. guy put me in a bad mood for the rest of the evening and I’m suppose to be happy smiley as it’s my birthday 🤦🏻 They serve our cake we ate it and I go pay the bill, manager apologises and said she had given us a discount, I skim the bill and pay for the meal. I rejoin my group and my partner tells me to check the bill properly, I read it carefully and what do you know, they charged me for the drink they didn’t have, they charge for the rice that was missing. I go see the manager and she offer me a free drink or discount for next visit, I declined both as it’s just not up to scratch. I told her about the waiter and his soy incident and she offered to dry clean my trousers, I told her my trousers cost over 2k and I wouldn’t be giving it to them to clean. All in all a very below standard night, I would expect a more experienced waiter to watch over our party and be ready to take orders for drinks and food but they were never on call. 2 star rating is for the decor and not dropping the cake. Need better...

Possibly one of the worst restaurants i have been into.

Never have I ever been chased by two waitresses to pay SUGGESTED service charge in all my life. Was told to come back to the restaurant because we hadn’t paid the full amount. Told them that we paid for the food and that we were dissatisfied with the service, so hence not willing to pay for lack thereof service. Walked back to the restaurant with the assistance of the two waitresses who continued to talk in their language. Then was confronted with the so-called manager who apparently knows how business “works”. Tells us that we should have discussed the fact of not paying service charge with the waitress before leaving.

What’s to be said, we didn’t like the service so we didn’t leave a tip. The waitress looked like she didn’t want to be there, for it to be so quite at lunch time the service was slow. She didn’t ask how we were finding everything, nothing. For the place to be quiet as it was, she could have been more attentive. Got the food with the smallest portion of sweet and sour chicken in the world. The food was so sub par, that it was laughable that in ala Carte they charge far more. Asked for a fork and the lady who brought us the food said there’s a spoon that is used to scoop the rice. Then the waitress gave us one, the relunctance was so annoying to me.

So imagine you are escorted back to the restaurant to be patronised by their manager. Who goes to tell me how they don’t know how service charge works, they thought we left them with less money. What’s difficult? The total of food is there and then the extra is the service charge. Not my fault they weren’t trained to read a bill. He kept saying how it’s their pay and they rely on it, again pay them better or better yet train them so they get service charge.

Either way, whether I had told her that I was displeased with the service I received or not. The end result would have been me not paying the service charge.

It’s so delicious! ! I have always come here to eat hot pot before, and I feel full every time. Today I tried the stir-fry, and I didn’t expect it to be so delicious! ! Right in Victoria! !
