***** Five star Sunday Roast! As a big fan of Sunday roast, I have been visiting pubs, restaurants and steakhouses for more than 20 years looking for the best roast in town. Over the years, I have had only a couple of favourite Sunday roasts places (ones that are on top of my list, and that I return to regularly). Hawksmoor Seven Dials and Cross Keys in Chelsea were the two most worthy roasts over the years, alas they have gone downhill recently, so I was on the hunt for a new roast place for my weekly pilgrimage. I heard from friends that this local pub in Pimlico, the Warwick, has a passionate and talented owner who actually cares about taste and quality of his food, and as his pub is also a free house (a pub that is not tied to a particular brand of beer), he is free to choose the beer as he wishes, but also for specific economic reasons, can keep a higher quality of food than other pubs. Now, we had the beef roast and the special roast (pork) and yes, the beef meat was pink and tender, Yorkshire pudding perfectly soft inside and crispy on the outside, the horseradish sauce was creamed and well balanced for the meat. Gravy excellent, and the potatoes, all though I prefer smaller ones, were textured and tasty. Pork was succulent, sauce was great. I’m not generally a fan or pork roast, but I can’t stop thinking about this one. And all this for £22 or so pounds. I am proud to say that I have found the best Sunday roast you can have in a pub in London (at least for now). I will be returning as long as they keep up the quality and care they have about food and drink here. Whilst you are there try the different beers on tap, like blue moon, the local IPAs or the latest lager. They also run a beer of the week. My compliments to the chef, staff and owner.

🚇 Victoria 🍺 £6.10 Pravha The Warwick is located in heart of Pimlico in SW1. The nearest Tube is Victoria, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This independent pub was built in 1842. It was the Princess Royal until 1995 and has since traded as The Orange Kipper and The Hedgehog & Pheasant. This one bar pub is a good size has an upscale traditional feel. The servery is located on the right of the main bar and has a modern back bar. Just off the main bar is a cosy lower area with comfy chesterfields. Upstairs is an elegant dining room if you want to get away from the busy main bar. There are some nice decorative touches here, around the perimeter of the main bar are gorgeous Victorian tiles, a beautiful stained glass window and stylish copper cladding. The beer line up is solid and offers a good selection of cask, local craft and premium beers. I decided on a Pravha, my pint was great, price point was average. The food menu is minimal and includes elevated pub grub dishes, Fish & Chips costs £18. I arrived just before 6pm on a chilly Friday afternoon in March. The pub was busy with an upbeat buzzy atmosphere. The punters were a mix of post work drinkers, some locals and a fair few tourists. The soundtrack was 70’s & 80’s pop and rock classics and set a nice tone. @thewarwickpimlico was a pleasant visit and a good all round pub experience. Worth a look if you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 08.03.24

My family and I visitied London for a week and ate lunch and dinner at a different restaurant for each meal with no regard of cost. Our dinner at The Warwick was our favorite dining experience. The interior was rustic and comfortable, well worn and casual. Service was exceptional. Staff was patient with us trying to find menu items for teenagers with food allergies and finding tables for us on a busy night despite our not having reservations. We had a few good pints of local ale and grilled gourgette’s and Caesar chicken croquettes to start, all nice. The standouts were the mains: chicken and mushroom pie over mashed potatoes and gravy and fish and chips. The pie crust was substantial and flakey, filling moist and flavorful, gravy deeply-flavored and silky, and mashed smooth and comforting. A generous portion of fresh fish had a light but shatteringly crisp exterior. I’d been served chips several times during the week — all billed on the menu as “triple fried” — that were all obviously to me dropped in the fryer from a bag right out of the freezer. The Warwick’s chips were proper thick wedges of fresh potatoes with crisp exteriors and fluffy interiors tasting of potato. All the food arrived piping hot from the kitchen, not from under heat lamps. Sticky toffee pudding tasted like Christmas, redolent with warm spices. Chocolate fondant was warm and rich and served with very good pistachio ice cream. Even our fussy teenagers reported their hamburgers were “five stars”. After a week of barely OK expensive fine dining meals in posh London neighborhoods we were joyful to have found a really...

WOW! I have so much to say about this lovely place. We were walking past after a long day and saw a couple with a beautiful looking roast dinner Infront of them. We fell in love. So we decided on our way back to the hotel we'd go freshen up and then dash back to see if we could get one ourselves. We arrived at 8pm and granted it was a little late at this point we just thought we'd try our luck. They welcomed us with such a friendly welcoming and were suddenly taken aback and pleasantly surprised. We originally wanted the lamb roast but unfortunately they were out at this point which we understood as it was late, so we ordered the pork belly roast but we will be trying the lamb next time and I had a pint of madri to go with. The pint was lovely and lines were clearly well taken care of. When the roast arrived I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY! It has a massive pork belly slab that was so crispy but tender that stayed crispy throughout the whole meal. The vegetables were lovely and the gravy was absolutely UNREAL! It was rich and perfectly thick. It was just divine we were absolutely amazed. The service was great! Everyone was so nice and the owner/manager came over to ask us how everything was. He even came over at the end and chatted with us and all we could do was compliment. I would truly recommend this place to everyone I know. We just had the best time we could have hoped for. Thank you so much for such a beautiful experience, we WILL be back whenever we're...
