The Museum Street Cafe was the perfect place to eat before heading off to the British Museum. Its location couldn't be more convenient – just a stone's throw from the museum, making it an absolute godsend for hungry visitors. What truly impressed me, beyond the prime location, was the quality of the food. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious, clearly prepared with care. I opted for avocado and scrambled egg breakfast and it didn't disappoint! Tasty and fresh! The service was also a highlight. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and efficient, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. In an area saturated with eateries, the Museum Street Cafe stands out as something truly unique. It manages to offer a genuinely enjoyable experience without breaking the bank. Considering its central London location, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. If you're planning a trip to the British Museum, I highly recommend making time for a meal or snack at the Museum Street Cafe. It's the perfect place to refuel with delicious, fresh food, enjoy friendly service, and soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant part of London. ...

I am not a fan of giving poor reviews as I know everyone has a bad day every now and then. However this place had the trifecta, terrible food, service and coffee.

To its credit the place was busy which is why we went in. That may be why staff harassed our kids to order while we were in the bathroom, after being there only a few minutes. This was clearly in a bid to drive volume in and out rather than provide a quality and comfortable experience.

We ordered the full English and avocado on toast. Sausages had the taste and consistency of breadcrumbs, bacon was turkey bacon and coffee was dreadful, even for London (which is saying something)! Avocado toast had a very minimal amount of avo spread over it and was covered with egg. It all came out super quick and wasn’t hot which would explain precooked food as noted by another reviewer.

I have no idea how a 4 star average score was possible after this experience. I wouldn’t recommend and there are so many other lovely options especially Lambs Conduit St...

Thank you for a pleasant experience overall on a sunny Saturday morning in Central London. I do appreciate this place must capture a constant stream of business from The British Museum, but it's quite clear that only a passing interest is given to the English Breakfast on offer here. Initially I asked for additional black pudding when placing my order, however none of the 3 staff members seemed to have heard of it. The scrambled eggs and steaming baked beans were actually decent but the poundland bacon substitute was really not pleasant, while the sausages had a soggy, pasty texture, barely any meat or herb flavour to speak of. For me these are the main characters of an English brekkie and they were both underwhelming to put it mildly. Add to that the hash brown was really just a sad, sloppy non-event. That said the efficient service and pleasant surroundings made up for it. Thanks for filling the hole but I won't be falling over my feet...

Order: For food, we had the Beef Melt Sandwich (from the Grilled Sandwiches section) and the Smoked Salmon Breakfast. For drinks: one regular Americano with oat milk on the side, and one iced black Americano. The Beef Melt appeared to include salt beef, cheddar cheese, rocket, and mustard. The Smoked Salmon Breakfast came with two slices of toasted bread, butter, smashed avocado, scrambled eggs, half a grilled tomato, and a generous portion of smoked salmon – don’t let the presentation fool you, I’d estimate it was well over 80 grams. Service was reasonably quick – no complaints there. However, the same can’t be said for the payment process; we ended up waiting longer than expected just to pay. All in all, while everything was satisfactory, there are plenty of places in London offering similar quality at a similar price point, so nothing particularly stands out. That said, if you’re in the area, it’s a safe and reliable option. Pricing is fair.
