Tucked into the heart of Leadenhall Market, The New Moon is a hidden gem spread across three characterful floors, each offering a unique experience.

Upstairs, The Brasserie at The New Moon is a real highlight — not just for its elevated view overlooking the buzz of the market, but for its seasonal menu that consistently impresses. Expect thoughtful, well-executed dishes made with fresh ingredients. Specials are a regular feature, so it’s worth asking what’s off-menu — recent standouts included a rich côte de boeuf and a beautifully cooked cod served with a butter bean and ’nduja stew. The kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing.

The main bar opens directly into Leadenhall Market and is always buzzing. It boasts a great selection of beers and ales, perfect for the after-work crowd or weekend wanderers. It’s popular, lively, and well-run — a solid spot whether you're just grabbing a drink or staying longer.

Downstairs, the Cellar Bar offers a more relaxed, intimate vibe. With chilled lighting and a curated cocktail menu, it’s ideal for unwinding with friends or sneaking in a quiet drink away from the city bustle.

Whether you're after seasonal dining, great drinks, or a different vibe on every floor, The New...

London is unique in boasting city pubs, the like of which you can not find anywhere else in the world. I must say that I miss those days when they were packed out at lunchtime and early evening with city bankers (and their bolwer hats (of the 70's). Fortunately, many survive to explore to soak up the atmosphere and to reminisce around bygone days. The New Moon is one such treat. Located on one corner of the stunning Leadenhall Market and Gracechurch Street, the New Moon is one such venue. I absolutely love the Cellar Bar. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff are fantastically welcoming. Often, it is a real haven when the upstairs gets busy. There is a great range of beverages to enjoy whilst immersing yourself in a genuine London City pub. There are Sports screens for those who require such entertainment, but I am just content to relax in comfortable surroundings and count myself lucky that I am a Londoner. If you are interested in London pubs, then I would urge you to pay this one a visit. I only hope that it will be preserved for future...

A heavy weight of London City drinking halls, at the entry to the heritage icon, Leadenhall Market. A large hall Georgian pub with high, decorative large wood panelled ceiling over a large long bar with a grand, carved wood back bar. Beautiful teardrop lamps hang in front of the mirrored archways of the bar back. Incredible outdoor drinking in the glorious architectural heritage beauty of Leadenhall Market. Perimeter perch seats look out & scatter through the bar for a good city, male centric crowd. There's two excellent high screens for sports & superb tunes dominate a great unwind vibe. There's a collection of local history pictures & a bar step for perching. A beautiful preserved place of architectural heritage in a stunning setting serving the city at its...
