Great bar where my group of 9 had a good time on our annual meeting which this year, took place in London. We are one of the oldest European MMORPG communities and we felt nq64 was a suitable "terminus" for our saturday activities.
Drinks were great, staff were amazing. But there were a few issues. We paid 450 total for a booth booking which came with prebought drinks/tokens. Within 5 minutes, our prebooked booth which wasn't really a booth, it was a long seat with two tables in a busy area had things taken from it when we went to get our first drinks. Despite there being booths by the bar which was preferable for us, we were given something that in our opinion didn't really match the description; to quote your e-mail, we were to get 2 5man booths or a banquette. Worst even, because of us all having to buy the same package, we pre arranged with eachother to trade tokens so non-drinkers all ended up with blues and money to cover the difference, and drinkers had reds.
This meant I had 4 reds instead of 2b/2r. A lad at the bar I spoke to replaced my cup of tokens with 2 reds, but this of course left me a red down which he couldn't do anything about because he had to give me what the book said. But this obviously by proxy meant I lost a drink, basically. But I did think the system of needing wristbands to spend drinks tokens was very clever, whoever stole my cup got some free games sure, but the drinks were worthless to him. A lot of machines not working, 30min wait to play guitar hero, consoles were never free.
Overall the feedback from my group was the bar was really good and they liked the place, but felt the absence of a cloakroom and us booking a booth and not really getting one was a disappointment. A booth might have saved my cup, people would think twice about nicking something in view of bar staff or where I could be nearby. The worst part we managed to find out who stole it, the cameras we were told were good but it wasn't looked into. A booth by the bar would have also been safer to leave bags and jackets. Also people ignored the reservation we frequently had to have drinks moved on from our table as it was a pain to get into.
I'd recommend the bar here any day of the week, the cocktails are straight 20/10. It's a decent arcade; but not worth the trip for it specifically. I would absolutely not recommend booking a booth, we booked 5 weeks in advance and we still got seating that was absolutely not a booth.
For comparison sake I will leave the original review up, but I did want to add Shayne and the manager at Soho nq64 made good on this complaint on a weekday evening when I was in the area with 5 friends and we thoroughly appreciated it. We had a much better experience and got to try the new menu. Final fantarita will be missed though. It was...

Went in a party of five for my partner’s birthday and everything went off without a hitch. Door staff kind and professional, bar staff patient and entertainment and the cherry on top was Katie. I don’t know if Katie is a manager but she should be. Every time we spoke to her she went above and beyond to help us with whatever we needed.
I’ve read reviews about machines needing more tokens than advertised which I experienced whilst there but as soon as I brought it to the attention of staff they rectified it for future use, something about the machines resetting overnight, and comped us our tokens back immediately. Nothing to complain about as long as you notify the staff who were more than happy to help.
Atmosphere was not as crowded as I’d feared. We went on a Thursday night at 9PM and found a little trouble using guitar hero but managed to squeeze into all other consoles and arcade machines at some point through the night.
Everything clean, the drinks were unbelievably good. Any gamer who drinks will enjoy something they have to offer and the theming is just unmatched. Really tied together the whole experience.
And in regard to the console hogging I have seen in other reviews, it was difficult at the beginning of the night to get onto a console because someone would leave and someone else immediately take that place, understandably- the consoles are great! But later into the night we had no trouble at all. They even have a sign saying “don’t hog the consoles- you’re bringing down our google reviews” which I found hilarious. Obviously the establishment can only do so much about this anyway.
I would highly encourage you to disregard a lot of the negative reviews here. I read them all leading up to my visit (I’m quite the pessimist so they really stuck in my mind) and I was rather nervous but I was very gladly proven 100% wrong. I would most certainly recommend NQ64 Soho to video game lovers of all ages and...
Read moreWas privileged enough to be invited to a pre-launch night. This is an amazing venue, located just around the corner from Oxford Circus Station, a short walk. The entrance is unassuming, modern black painted entrance, signed NQ64, Arcade bar above the entrance. The moment you enter you are greeted with vibrant graffiti illuminated, the artwork is fluorescent, amazing. The decor of the venue throughout is the same, even in the toilets. Stepping downstairs you are immediately facing a large bar, and to all sides are an array of retro arcades. There is so much choice of games in the form of retro arcades to retro console games. The arcades work off NQ64 tokens which can be purchased at the bar. The consoles are free play. There are shooting, driving, dancing, fighting, platform, etc arcades, classic favourites for those that grew up in the 80's and 90's. The consoles play retro games such as Golden Axe, etc. Very nostalgic for me personally as I played many of these arcades in the past when arcades were a thing, the consoles too, I wasn't lucky enough to have all the games on offer, but definitely opened up special memories playing some of the console games with friends from days gone by. Lot, and lots of old favourites, something here for everyone, even for those that didn't play arcades back in the day. If you think this place is just for geeks then you are mistaken, this is a cool hang out place for all over 18's, young and old, you are sure to find something for everyone. The bar is very well stocked, and the cocktails are amazing, I would highly recommend. The music playing is really cool, and adds to the vibe. There is a good volume of seating too, which is great for hanging out. This is a great change from the normal bar, great to meet friends at, makes for a great talking point, also would see this place as a great place to go on a first date or just a date night, as a great ice breaker piece, and the games keep the conversation flowing. Overall I would highly recommend, and I will definitely be...
