Looking for a casual local italian option? Surely at Oliveto you will find the dish you are craving for with a local, cosy and relaxed environment.
Oliveto offers a plentiful selection of italian dishes, from Pasta & Pizza to main courses including fish, milanese fillets and others. I dare you will find the dish you are craving for here!
Such a wide menu with a daily selection and recurring winners. Food Recommendation is the Milanese (veal) and Tartuffo Pizza with the Catalan Cream as dessert. Portions are very well served, 1 dish per person is more than satisfying. Pizzas: house-made with wide options of vegetarian taste and italian ingredients; nontheless.
I would recommend Oliveto if you are looking for an easy & relaxed restaurant. This will not be 'fine dining', nor the type of dishes that with take away your breath, but fit multiple purposes and will certainly satisfy your belly and heart.
The restaurant closws early on weekends, so would recommend booking in advance and try to make an early dinner. Fridays after 10pm is already closing. Ideal for family and business.
The have a good selection of bottles of wines and drinks. They even make a pairing suggestion for desserts and food that can be found in the menu. They have a terrace and indoor space with an upper salon that can be used for priviate dinning.
Found the price well-adjusted for the overall quality, but also portions! Good balance.
Recommendation to Oliveto: If not already done; preferably, shorten a bit the menu and focus in creating a "house creation" (guess is i.e. the...
Read moreExtremely disappointed by our experience - service was almost nonexistent and food was quite underwhelming for the most part. While the location / restaurant is beautiful, we weren’t acknowledged for a good 10 minute standing in the entrance despite employees walking past us and it being 50% empty. Once we were seated it was another 20 minutes until they took our order. Ordered the tartare which legitimately tasted rancid / off due to the dressing and stale cheese (?) shavings on top. Mains were homemade sausage pasta and tuna filet. Tuna was actually very good and fresh, which is why I’m giving 2 stars as this was the only good thing here. The pasta was completely undercooked and we could barely find 4 pieces of sausage in it. Tasted like the tomato base had not been cooked off properly and was overly sweet. Just not good. We decided to skip dessert and leave, the manager saw us leave 2 feet away directly staring at us and not acknowledging us at all or saying goodbye / thank you although we did thank him regardless of our poor experience. Overall just not good and there’s significantly better Italian...
Read moreLast week I had the misfortune of dining at Oliveto. I decided to try the ravioli. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Not only was the portion size tiny (5 pieces) but there wasn't much filling in the ravioli (almost flat) It felt like I was eating air. To make matters worse, the dish was incredibly overpriced (20 pounds) for what I received. I left the restaurant feeling hungry and cheated. speaking of prices, they also automatically add a 15% service fee to the bill, regardless of the quality of service. Ravioli from Tesco are more delicious and far cheaper.
Besides, the staff was rude and condescending, making fun of customers who didn't correctly pronounce the names of the dishes in Italian. It was clear that they thought they were superior and the customers were beneath them.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The staff's attitude and behavior was completely unacceptable, and the food and service were not worth the high prices. Save your money and go somewhere else where you'll be treated with respect and the food and service are actually...
