I stayed here in February for some exams I had to take. The location was great for accessing Victoria Station and I felt safe in the area, even at night. There was a well-lit and covered walkway for the business building (151 Buckingham) that took you to the entrance of the Station. My single room had a large TV, kettle, and phone to reception. When I arrived, I was told that I would be in the unmanned annex across the street from the main reception and building. This was disappointing as I had specifically looked for a hotel that advertised a 24-hour manned reception, as I knew I would be having some later nights out. My room on the 4th floor was very small, which was fine, but the low sloped ceilings were the biggest issue. I am a very petite person and would not recommend it for someone taller than 5’5”. I had to sit sideways on the toilet to fit in the closet bathroom, and the storage space for my suitcase was on a funny platform about 4’ off the ground. It was a struggle as I was recovering from a dislocated shoulder, but I managed to heave my bag up there. The lift was broken the entirety of the stay but it doesn’t go all the way up to the 4th floor anyways; every stairway landing had bags of laundry in the way. No extra blankets were provided in the room. The heating worked the first night, second night wouldn’t turn on until morning. The window had a strong draft coming through, and the repairman came and helped improve it but still strong enough to move privacy curtain. Therefore, it was quite cold the second night with the drafty window right above bed, the heat not always working, and no extra blankets. I also disliked that the window shakes and rattles from wind or trains all night. It needs to be replaced as there was splintering and chipping paint and noise came in as if the window was open. The price was okay for London and the location was handy for Victoria Station, but overall I would not recommend staying here.

Best Western - Worst Experience Before checking in to this hotel you have to consider a couple of things: 1. The rooms are tiny, so the place looks more like a hostel with the exception that you have your private bathroom. For example, I had to fit my suitcase under the sink in the bathroom - that’s how little room you might get. 2. Lots of stairs but no elevator. Best is to request a room at ground level or at first level at most. Otherwise you might get a room at third level like I did and with the narrow staircases and the suitcase weighing about 23 kg it might become a nightmare to get up to your room. Yet the receptionist was pretty polite to offer help. 3. The hotel is way to close to the railway station Request a room which windows face Buckingham Palace Rd. and not the railway otherwise you will suffer from background noise all night long. Believe me, I know. I did. 4. Breakfast very poor, therefore very fast You don’t get any warm meal. There’s no scrambled eggs, no bacon, no vegetables no beans no proper English breakfast. Expect some cornflakes yogurt and other packed foods that you can buy in the supermarket. So my advice don’t include breakfast at the hotel. Better save that money and go have breakfast somewhere in the city, considering that almost every bar opens at 7-8 AM. From the positives: The bedsheets are clean. The stuff is polite. And if you have to move the next day to another city/country you have the Victoria Coach (Bus) and Train stations very close. But overall this hotel is overpriced. I’ve paid €430 per 2 nights. For this money you can find better. Or at least request better service for your money.

The location was easily accessible and to Victoria Station is around 5 mins walk. But the single room on the 4th floor could not be accessed by lift. The lift only go up to the 3rd floor, you either drag your own luggage up the stairs or ask for Potter to carry it for you. As it is close to Victoria Coach Station, many travellers in transit like to stay for 1 night. You can hear the sound from the trains in your room, which is not very pleasant if you want to sleep before midnight. Because this is not a Licenced hotel, not much facilities are provided. No restaurants but they do have a small buffet breakfast on the ground floor at £6 which is quite reasonable. Laundry you need to take your clothes out to wash in a nearby laundry shop.

Booked late (on the day) as needing a bolt hole for the night. Received a single room on the top floor of the new building opposite the main reception. So be aware, that not all rooms are in the main building. Door access is via a key card, but is seen from the main reception desk and CCTV is in operation on this door. All rooms are very cosy, so not always ideal if you are If you are a plus size like me, a side shuffle is needed to sit on the loo or indeed have a shower. You have to exit the bathroom in order to dry yourself. Great for valentines night, if you are a couple.||Location wise, exit Victoria Train station via the shopping mall on the first floor (Head for McDonalds or the food court,. but don't go up to the actual food court via the second set of escalators) by platforms 12, and then you will find it more of a level floor than using the street. There is a Sainsburys located at the end of the shopping mall on the left, to pick up snacks and water for the room.||Breakfast is perhaps over marketed in terms of what it delivers. I am not expecting organic hand made cream or butter, but a freshly warmed pan au raisin or orange juice that was did not taste like cordial, I do. So for the price on top of room rate, it would be better value going to McDonalds at Victoria Train station.||Room are very well isolated, and sometimes I was reminded of being on a night of passion, as when the trains went pass, /"the bed was a rocken" with the vibrations from them. But I was located on the top floor.||One thing that I wanted to point out and that is how clean the whole place was. It was spotless. Even found two housekeepers on the floor in the annex, with toothbrushes cleaning behind the radiator when I arrived. Now if that is the level of.||This was now my 3rd visit to the hotel. Each time, I have not issues with how clean, or the level of service received. It has been consistent and a clear positive. Value is mixed, and you do book for the location and this costs. They seem to base there pricing on the HI Express Victoria, so check out both prior to booking. Both are VERY similar in standards/price but just as good...

When sorting out my emails this morning, I came across my booking confirmation, which mentally landed me years ago in this hotel. And as I've had a good experience there, I felt it was the occasion to show your team my gratitude.

Back to 2015, I was planning to assist my favorite artist's concert and was a bit nervous because it would be my first time in London on my own. But this occasion was too exciting to resist, so I finally packed my luggages and caught the Eurostar to St Pancras.

Well, my first idea was to stay near the very centre of London, but as one expects, prices are very high in this area, so I had to look a bit further. This was at that moment I discovered your hotel, and as I don't like third parties, I decided to book directly with you instead of booking on global platforms, which generally raises the cost of your stay by 15%.

My 3 days stay started auspiciously as I had the chance to meet and be greeted by Mr. HUSSEIN with a warm welcome. To speak frankly, Mr. Hussein acted like a guardian angel to me and helped me throughout my stay by giving me indications & advices regarding the surroundings.

We also had some time to converse about the differences between French and English cultures, and I did appreciate his support regarding all the tragic events that happened at that time in my country.

More globally, regarding the rooms, I was looking for affordable and comfortable rooms, so middle range hotels were my target. I would definitely recommend this hotel because I was feeling at ease and the rooms were spacious enough for me. Thanks to Mr. Hussein, I had a taste of the buffet breakfast on the first morning, so I booked it for the next two days.

The localisation fitted perfectly well my expectations, as I was not too far from the train station, and not too far from the Roisin Murphy's concert.

I hope to come back one day when I will have some time beside work. And I really do hope, Mr. Hussein, that you still work in this hotel and to see you again one day, it was a great pleasure to be welcomed by you and to share some daily chat about mundane things.

"Un GRAND merci !"

Kind...
