The Carpenters Arms — Restaurant in London

Great local pub, good atmosphere, very friendly staff.

I travel a lot, so have had opportunity to visit here for a pint on several occasions. Always enjoy talking with the staff and locals, make you feel at home.

Good selection of beers, has plenty of options from British cask ales to modern IPAs which should satisfy most everyone.

No cash…card only.

Only irritant is the cashless electronic “tipping”, which you can do at anytime with a small electronic device on the bar. My irritant is that I was told by one of the staff that the management/owners of the bar take a percentage, as does the business who actually supplies the tipping device, leaving what’s left to the staff….seriously!! Hint…leave a cash tip on the bar!

Good traditional London pub. Good atmosphere but took quite a while to get served. There was a limited selection of real ales available but fortunately there was one traditional ale - the Sussex bitter which was quite nice. Food was good traditional London pub fare - we had the pies which were good but there was an extra £2 charge for pea's which seemed a bit steep but the price of the pies was quite reasonable. Also when the pies arrived they came with minted mushy peas which we didn't think really went with the pies, and we were expecting garden peas - it would have been better if we had been told it was mushy peas only or if we were asked which type of peas we wanted for...

Incredible staff, always premier league, tasty press with gravy mash and press. Lots of tap beer, decent wine selection and great atmosphere. Carpenters Arms near Marble Arch, should not be missed. Lovely, fun pub with great staff some of whom I will miss as they prepare to move away. GM Scott does have a great way with people making sure each of the staff treat the customers like family. He just knows how to pick people. Wide variety of patrons and a good outdoor crowd enjoying fresh air year round whilst having a smoke of pipe or cigar...
