Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I've ever had!!! Do not be fooled into thinking this is a better class of Italian Pizza establishment. This restaurant used to be Ok, but the last two visits have been horrendous, this one so bad that I have felt compelled to give it a review!! A table was booked for the 28 March with pre-ordered food for 14 of us for 4.30pm as our 8 year old daughter was performing in the pantomime at the pavilions. Subsequently my wife and her would have to leave the restaurant at 5.45 to be back stage by 6pm. The restaurant was pretty empty at 4.30pm when we arrived and we thought that this would give them just enough time to eat and the rest of us go to the Pavilons around 7pm....Not the case, after 1 hour nothing had arrived, despite asking the staff what was going on and stressing the fact that we had pre-ordered! We asked could we at least just have my daughters pasta and my wife's salad as that was all they were eating. But after 1hr 15mins of waiting (5.45pm)the food started to arrive!! Yes my wife and daughter had virtually no time to eat, but this isn't the worst of it, the catalogue of errors in our order were as follows: My daughters pasta was burnt ( it had clearly been sitting in the oven while they cooked everything else!!) My mother's and mother in law's pizzas were both cold with bases so hard they couldn't cut them!!! Thus inedible My sister in law was given the wrong pizza and had to have it as they had run out of ingredients!! My Father's calzone was virtually empty and also burnt and inedible.
So after a rather stern conversation with the manager, he bought the bill over and asked us what we intended on paying for, but he eventually did one thing right and said just pay for your drinks.
Sorry, never again and I hate to say it, but Pizza Hut wins hands down and that's...
Read moreStay away!!!!!! Currently been waiting 50mins for my pizza to arrive bearing in mind its really Quiet. Firstly ordered my food only to be told they don’t do chips…. Then the waitress went for a smoked think as It smelt and left the back door open after she came back in freezing the place out. I’m currently sat in my coat eating my tea. Then when my pizza eventually came I politely asked for some garlic sauce…only to be told they don’t do garlic sauce!!!!! What kinda pizza place doesn’t offer garlic sauce as a minimum never mind chips. Find somewhere else worth the money next time as the pizza isn’t anything special, it’s nice but seems like it’s missing something to dip in. One waitress seemed lovely and smiley, the other woman was pretty miserable towards customers but she’s quite happy laughing and smiling with staff. So I’m paying to eat a pizza without chips and garlic sauce in the cold… brilliant. Also had to wait ten minutes for a drink after I was seated. Sighing at customers isn’t professional. She needs to learn some serious customer service. Throwing the bill in my face seconds after I’d eaten prompting they were closed. Even though they took 50 minutes to Cook a pizza. Another woman has just had a go at her about her attitude aswell. The downstairs toilets haven’t been cleaned in a while the toilets are disgusting and there is dust and muck everywhere. Even the white walls aren’t white. The place is disgusting 🤮. Also £3.55 for a small glass bottle of coke is extortionate!!!!! Specially when you can’t even invest the money making the place look presentable and the...
Read moreFor a little while now, we are almost-recent owners of a smartphone and have been attempting to come to terms with the PizzaExpress App. It isn't always that simple for us, although, after a little trial and error, we managed to log in to the WIFI etc. at PizzaExpress Plymouth Derry's Cross and log in to the new PizzaExpress App.
It was excellent that, even though there was a relatively busy house, we were cheerfully ushered onto a spare table, in spite of the fact that we hadn't booked.
What was also brilliant, was that the nice waitress almost immediately brought us a jug of drinking water and two glasses, (we hadn't even mentioned it) nice...
Shortly after settling down at the waiting table, and after walking in, we enjoyed our tasty little starter drinks of Birra Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Soave D.O.C.
After relaxing with our pre-dinner drinks, Olives Marinate and Slow-Roasted Tomatoes we pondered over the items listed on the menu, although we couldn't get it all to go right onto the app, (we're not so young anymore and not too smartphone-savvy etc.).
Fortunately, the waitress helped us to come to terms with the PizzaExpress-app - on the phone, etc...
A little while afterwards, we thoroughly enjoyed our selections of the Pollo Pesto (for my wife) and Funghi Di Bosco for me, lovely...
Mary's wine with these delicious choices was the nice dry smooth, but slightly fruity Soave...
