Not the place for a romantic meal!!! We booked this ahead for a planned trip to Plymouth for our much needed 'date' weekend. We were soooooo excited!!! When we arrived we were shown to our table which was a high table with high bar stools. Unfortunately, I've been suffering with a severe bad back and am only now recovering. Being only 5 feet tall, my legs were just dangling and I was so uncomfortable, I just couldn't sit there. We explained the situation and were told the only table available was by the main door on the terrace. Basically, we had no choice. A high table, or a low one next to everyone coming and going, under the speaker. We couldn't hear ourselves talk. We opted for some tapas as a 'starter' and decided to move on. To not even be able to have a conversation was ridiculous. We felt just stuffed out into a corner, next to everyone coming and going. If high tables and chairs are where you are being seated you should be told/asked if that's suitable. I seem to recall on booking they might have asked if you have access needs or are disabled, but I'm neither, I've just been acutely unwell for a few weeks and need to sit in a proper chair, and they couldn't or wouldn't accommodate my needs. There was a spare table for two which just had a drink collecting tray on it. My husband asked if the tray could be moved and we could sit there, but it was no, the terrace by the door or nothing. The food that we did have was blooming lovely, just a shame the atmosphere was not good. For a romantic meal, to not be able to hear each other to have a conversation is ridiculous. The service was great. They just didn't seem to care that I was in pain and physically could not sit on a high chair. Very very very disappointed. Photos show my view. Not what I expected for our romantic meal out. Picture that, with a speaker blasting stupidly loud music right into your ear, being unable to hold a proper conversion and you've got the picture.

I came here with a friend. I have been here once before a long time ago for breakfast pre-pandemic. The food was really good and presented amazingly. I had a burger and sweet potato wedges. There was also a promotion on the pricing for Eat Out to Help Out so the price point given the quality of the food was amazing. Also if you're vegetarian or vegan most of their menu items can accommodate. They also have gluten free. The only thing that let the side down a bit on this visit was the host/greeter wasn't overly welcoming or friendly. Also I'd booked a particular table to be close to a radiator as it was a super cold & wet day but the table we were given wasn't what I'd been told we were getting - it wasn't by a wall or radiator at all. The service was also pretty slow even just to get a drink order in & there were a couple of other things I'd wanted to ask for when the food was out but the waitress wasnt around our area much and by the time she was I'd finished my meal. It could be they were just busy. I would come back here as the food is worth it. Id recommend this place to friends and family. Better for adults.

Last minute choice for our party of 7. A suitable table was found for us. The menu is extensive, we found ourselves spoilt for choice. It all sounded so good. When it arrived we were all in agreement that the quality and taste was excellent 👌. The beer was really cold, too much for my teeth and fillings, but some like it like that. The atmosphere was lively, it being a Saturday night. Not overly so but not quiet either. The lighting was a bit low and subdued for me; I would have preferred it a bit brighter, so I can see what I'm eating. I've left the service until the end as this was the only thing that prevented a full 5 ⭐ review. There was very little interaction between staff and customers. The staff were pleasent but no more than that. Anything we needed we had to get up and ask for. No paper serviettes issued when the food arrived, something that should be fairly standard these days. Perhaps, on reflection, I'm being a bit picky regarding the service. We all enjoyed our meal, which is what its all about really.

I visited Bonne Sante with family, all of us were super excited with the opening of a healthy restaurant, finally! Needless to say after our visit we were absolutely gutted..

On arrival everything seemed great and we took our seat, however we were immediately distracted by the massive echos, I understand this can’t be helped but at the time live music was being played in the doorway, making it impossible to hear one another.

We loved the menus and couldnt wait to order, however as 15/20 minutes passed without any acknowledgement from any member of staff we started to feel a bit neglected. My partner went to the till to get a drink as he couldn’t wait any longer. And checked that the restaurant was offering table service (to which is was).

On retrieving a member of staff to take our order we had a few questions about what to expect with the dishes, unfortunately the waitress didn’t know herself to be able to help us, and in my experience the menu is usually talked about with the staff before serving to the public, however on this occasion that wasn’t the case. Nevertheless, we ordered our food and remaining drinks at the same time.

After we ordered and our menus were removed from the table, we became ever so popular with a different waitress coming to the table every couple minutes asking us if we would like to order! At this point we started to have doubts about what to expect.

40 minutes passed and we still hadn’t received our food, we had come for a later lunch and my partner was losing patience so went to the bar and bought a packet of crisps as he was so hungry! I couldn’t believe we went for lunch and were put in the position we were sat at our table eating crisps!

At this point I went to the bar and asked where our food was, the manager/owner disappeared to the kitchen for about 5 minutes while I stood and waited, he returned to explain one of their two ovens was out of operation and causing delays (now I understand this may happen, however why couldn’t someone let us know that there would be a longer wait for our food ????) he explained it should only be a short while longer.

10 minutes later our food arrived, we ordered 2 portions of poached eggs and avocado on lightly toasted homemade bread, the banana protein pancakes, the healthy fish and chips (grilled mackerel, sweet potato fries) and the firecracker prawns. - we loved the menu and wanted to have a taste of everything.

Now where do I start on the food!!

The Mackerel was supposed to be grilled, the whole fish was black! My partner hit the fish with his knife and it bounced back! The sweet potato fries may have well been sweet potato mash because they were so soggy.

The poached eggs.. one was over cooked and the yolk was completely solid, the other was so under cooked that the egg white was snotty. The lightly toasted bread was not toasted, stodgy and damp.

The banana protein pancakes, now we were really excited about these, pancakes with banana, crushed nuts, dark chocolate, with a honey Greek yoghurt, it sounded delightful.. there was no chocolate or crushed nuts in our pancakes. By this point we were feeling rather disgruntled. While he was at the table we explained the eggs were disappointing, he offered to replace them but by this point we had been in the restaurant for over an hour and did not want to be put through that wait again, so we ate some of what we had.

The firecracker prawns, another dish we were so excited about. The prawns were undercooked and slightly translucent, our sauce was an Asia style salt bath!

Overall all this restaurant is a great idea, however has been so terribly executed. The promise from the owner for some vouchers by email never came, so I haven't had chance to try this again and quite frankly I would not be in a...

I went out Saturday night with my friends to Bonne Santé to celebrate my friend engagement and my wedding . We order few cocktails and some food in the same time . We wait a little bit longer for drinks and enough for food ;especially when we realise the food was disgusting and not fresh . . We had an awful experience here because we had to pay something we didn’t order . We order a bottle of Rozato twice which was £25 the bottle. We was shocked when we receive our bill. It was a way too much for what we order . When we checked the bill we notice that we was charged for 2 bottle of Champagne Louis Roederer which we didn’t order and only one bottle was £65 . We asked the waitress to call the manager and when she came . Shannon it’s her name and she became very argumentative, blaming us for not having picked up on a mistake that her staff had made ,accusing us of knowing what we were drinking and frankly being very rude, shouting and completely unreasonable to our group ,she didn’t even asked us what happened and she just said straight”you have to pay the bills” not even listen to us . The customers around us just left. This is not very nice . Fortunately we sorted out with another member of staff but this Shannon just ruined all night when the thing can be sorted out very nice and easy not like she did it . I don’t recommend this place and we will never go...
