We stopped by this little seaside seafood stall and ordered 4 oysters to start – just to try. But after the first bite, we were hooked! The oysters were so fresh and flavourful that we immediately went back for 4 more. In total, we had 8 oysters, and each one was a delight.
They offered two varieties:
The Cumbrae oysters (Scotland) - smaller, delicate and wonderful sweet, had a clean, briny taste with a creamy finish – like tasting the ocean itself.
The Lindisfarne oysters - a bit larger, slightly firmer with a crisp, mineral edge and a light cucumber freshness.
We tasted some plain, no sauce to enjoy the pure flavour of the sea. Others we had with squeeze of lemon and a dash of Tabasco, which gave them a zesty lift and a bit of heat.
