Del Taco — Restaurant in Alamogordo

There was one older gentleman waiting at the register when I arrived to pick up my mobile order, no one greeted me, no one even had acknowledged him, and he'd apparently been there more than a few minutes before I walked in. There were 4 employees including the manager in the kitchen, which I thought was odd as it wasn't busy, two were goofing off, and they only had 3 orders (I'm assuming drive through & my mobile order) on their screen.

I stood there almost 10 minutes waiting, bantering with the gentleman waiting to place his order, and absolutely appaled by the manager's mouth & attitude the whole time. She even had a snide remark for me when I asked for something specific & she stated very resolutely it wasn't in the order. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Easily showed her it was, and she was NOT happy. Chose to roll her eyes, say something to the other 3 in the kitchen, then ignore me to make a point to FINALLY take the elderly gentleman's order. (Which she was also rude with him & short when she realized he was using a coupon)

Finally got my other item & told the guy good luck with his order & I hoped it came out quicker than it took to order, we laughed, the manager literally yelled, "ok, bye now!" As I was leaving.

I suppose she could have been having a really horrible day, but if that is the case, go hide in your office for a bit, or call in, they'll figure it out.

But I now understand why they aren't as busy as they should be. Between the manager & the awful quality of the food, I'll pass. Which sucks, because I was SO excited there was a DT here, it's one of my favorite chains. 🤷🏼‍♀️

(It took more than 20 minutes to pick up an order I'd placed 15 minutes...

So this is night crew the teen working there was very rude when my sister was ordering then because it was busy he stated he had the rude manger with glasses she said she told me I was unprofessional when I tried telling them the little 37 dollar order wow how unprofessional of this place from all the experience the night shift is the worst you got employees with the rudest attitude the general manager clearly won’t step up to his mangers cause look at how they just treated a paying customer no cheese in bean green burrito which is horrible professional service the night crew is horrible they need to learn respect for the customer care less attitude with management how funny they for got the chips and queso 5$ for that stuff 5$ just to go back for there mess up or was it on purpose sounds like they need a manager my kids ate their meat burritos with milk cause your employees didn’t push a simple button with no sause no nothing hahah counting the time I’ve complained or heard complaints to the general manager seems like they just get rid of the good employees to keep the bad ones wow just horrible crew now a days No hair should be in the food either my kid is grossed out by this place now and he loves it in the morning time while the morning crew does their...

This visit was to the Del Taco in Alamogordo, NM on Fri 7/8/2022. Excellent food as always at any Del Taco! Its fast food yes, but everything is made on site, as it always has been since Mr. Hackbarth opened the very first Del Taco ever. We used to be Taco Bell fans, but Del Taco won us over years ago with better food, better pricing and everything made in house (hand chopped lettuce and tomato, hand shredded cheese, beans cooked in house etc). However, we dined in and found the tables need to be cleaner. Tables and floors were sticky and many had crumbs or food remnants from the last customer. We totally understand many service industry businesses are struggling with labor shortages and being constantly short handed, combined with many employees and even managers being new and possibly inexperienced, so we're not going to complain too much about "could be cleaner". Just worth mentioning because we know these reviews are often read by owners, managers, franchisees etc. But anyway, each persons visit is only a brief snapshot of the conditions at a business and how it operates, so it might be totally different and perfectly clean at other times and most times. We just visited passing thru. As mentioned previously, excellent yummy Del Taco...
