My father and I took an extremely rare trip together to Alaska in May 2012. We both have never been there, but its always been my dream to go. So when he asked if I could take 2 weeks off from work to tag along, and had a grand to spend, I said HELL YES! Fire me, boss... I am going! Pop was on business and I tagged along. It was amazing! On a stop in Anchorage, we walked the streets from our hotel not giving one thought to safety issues, because when you're in an amazing, far off city, you seem to not care what happens. Every minute is a memory. We walked into Darwins and took a seat in a booth, we ordered some beers, and I grabbed some popcorn. We chatted with a local for a half hour, and just had a laid back, great time. We were total tourists, total out of towners.... but had a totally cool time! I subscribed to Darwins newsletter while in his bar, and it still arrives today! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE READING IT! Maybe someday I will make it back to Anchorage... in my dreams as a resident. It's a lovely city. I have seen many cities, and y'all that take it for granted... DONT! A toast to Darwin and his great staff... CHEERS! Luv you guys... Todd Fortini ...

Service: It can get busy sometimes, but the lovely bartenders keep your glass full. All the staff are fun and really make it an enjoyable experience. The kind of staff that, "if you have a problem with them, you're the one with the problem."
Atmosphere: This is why I come here. You just never know what might happen. On tame nights I enjoy great conversations with regulars and foreigners from all over the world. Some late nights can get exciting. People dancing in a room barely able to stand 2 people shoulder to shoulder. The whole bar joins in to sing with the jukebox on occasion. Truly a great place to visit when you're in town, or a few times a week if you live...
