First time visiting this bar/establishment thought it was okay. Seems like a mixture of older folks (grandmas/pas) and youngins. Went on a Friday night with a crew of youngins and cougars đ. This was the second bar we visited. The line wasnât too long; would say we waited like 10-minutes. The main room had some pool tables and the main bar area. The lights were on full blast so you got to SEE the crowd. Drink prices reminded me of a big city however, they lacked big city punch power. We moved into the secondary room which was packed. It reminded me of monkeys/sardines in a barrel. But I understand since it smaller than the first room. Plus this room has the following: mechanical bull in the center, a pool table near the elevated âVIPâ area, 2 bars on opposite sides, a secondary elevated area with a pole and a half dance floor. There are cameras everywhere but that does not stop people from throwing hands/fighting. As another reviewer mentioned the security guards are selective in who they let throw down/fight. Guess they need some entertaining throughout the night. There are 2 doors in the secondary room; one leads to the street entrance where you can purchase your drunk food (glizzies, hoagies, etc.) The other exit leads to the parking area in the back. This exit also shares parking for the 49th state brewing restaurant.
People sometimes do a little parking lot pimpinâ, more fighting, and car tricks in this parking lot. However, the police station is nearby and they...
Read moreOf all the available establishments, this used to be higher up my list, until last night. Just after 2am, there were WAAAY too many people allowed in, at least for my standards.
I feel like a lot of popular places are like this though, especially here in Anchorage and why I don't go to Willawa who even has a line. Even restaurants would rather risk their employees walking out than having customers wait in the cold. I've waited an hour in line out in the winter to get into a properly crowd controlled Convention and it was worth it. It'd be worth bringing a hat in order to comfortably exit the building rather than worrying that I might step on someone, get coughed on, or can't even tell someone that a jacket they are claiming is in fact my own. Unfortunately my standards are much higher than the people getting paid.
Will not endorse...
Read moreI was assaulted at gaslight. Some random person came up and punched me three times and I was knocked out. The security did nothing to apprehend the man and afterwords, the staff and security treated me with hostility, accusing me of starting the fight and clearly did not want to deal with the issue. I held my ground and got the police involved, but I highly suggest people find another bar to go to if you want to be safe and respected.
The gaslight doesn't care for your safety and avoids any responsibility when they have incidents.
EDIT: If you don't believe me about the reputation of the gaslight, I implore you to read the reply that the owner of the establishment left below. Once again, I am treated with hostility. This proves my point and I will reiterate my advice to never purchase from or enter this...
