Pioneer Bar — Restaurant in Alaska

Went to this place for at least 10 years. Walked in one night and ordered a drink and a girl came up and bumped into me and said, “Check your white privilege!”. I was in disbelief and discarded the comment. She went and got a bouncer and he came back and said I had to go. I tried to find out what I did wrong and they could not answer. I left because I didn’t want confrontation. I tried to enter the place 2 times since and was told by the bar tender that has handlebar mustache that I wasn’t welcome and on the last occasion that he wouldn’t serve me because he didn’t like my face with multiple witnesses present. We left. What a pity. I’ve never never cause a problem at this place and enjoyed the Irish coffees....

I’m not sure where the love for this bar comes from. I’ve been there on a Friday/Saturday night and it’s a mad house. There’s never available seating and you can barely move. The whole time you’ll be touched by at least 3 other people around you. It takes a hot minute to get from the bar to the bathrooms because it’s so packed. There’s no place to dance and it feels more like an ale house vibe verses a weekend hangout. The drink prices are outrageous, but normally decent drink. Because it’s so busy it can take awhile to get a drink. The bathrooms are tiny and gross. I’ve been many times over the years and now I just refuse. Other patrons are rude, touchy and uncomfortable to be around. Not a good place to...

Roomy bar with a wide range of the enjoyable music, but it may be best to avoid the restrooms. ( I believe it's Yelp that says: "if restroom stalls don't have doors , it's a dive"). Wake up management. Multiple big screen tv's (baseball and football), Shuffle board, pooltables, darts, and Big Game Hunter video games ( If you want to shoot something, a video moose won't mind no matter how many times you blast him) offer plenty of entertainment.
