Best pizza in town. The outer crust is so good it’s basically like getting a free side dish. The key is they have stones and everything is made in house with an extra dash of bias from this reviewer. They are locally owned unlike the chains where most of your pizza is made outside of Alaska. All their staff are great at this downtown location AND they have genuine chefs onboard. 🏆🍕 Alaskan brewed beer on tap as well! 🍻 Plus they have the best music playlist I’ve ever heard played at ANY business. 🎶 👉 They have many delicious vegan options to choose from as well as their non-vegan options. 👍 AND Uncle Joe’s delivers! (I love Moose’s Tooth but they do NOT deliver unless you’re ordering for a big event and spending hundreds or thousands of dollars at once… back in the before-times anyways… haven’t checked lately to be honest.) As well as many non-pizza dishes, Uncle Joe’s offers pizza by the slice or to order with pizza sizes of 10”, 12”, 16” and 18” (with the 18” size being relatively rare in the industry). If you want the most pizza for your money then go with their 18” pizza. The extra size increase from an industry-standard large pizza (16”) to Uncle Joe’s 18” pizza provides MUCH more pizza than one would think and more than makes up for the relatively small increase in price from 16” to 18” (ask a math expert if you disagree). Their 18” pepperoni is my personal recommendation for a great budget-minded option for some top-shelf pizza. Or if you have a little extra to spend and like as many toppings as possible then I also personally recommend the Super-Combo pizza; who knew sliced tomatoes would add so much to something that already has tomato sauce on it??? (The texture is what does it.) They have a large variety of great options to choose from so make sure to take a thorough look at the menu and enjoy trying to find which ones are your favorites! Please tip well, they deserve it! You pay and tip when you order at the counter and if you hear them ring the bell it means someone just gave a big tip. And if you agree that it’s the best pizza in town then please let the staff know it, they love hearing it (either through the bell and/or through words). Don’t hesitate to ask the staff about the restroom if you need, it’s more than understandable that the restroom isn’t a public restroom like the sign says (otherwise it would get messy in minutes due to the downtown location) but it is open to customers. Just ask the staff and you’ll be set. And if it’s late at night near closing time in the peak of tourist season (in the heart of downtown Anchorage no less) then consider bringing a pocketful of napkins just in case they run out due to how busy it can get (it’ll be stocked FULL of napkins the next morning). I don’t envy the person whose job it is to try and keep napkins stocked up with that kind of demand and I don’t blame them one bit when they run out; I’m just happy to get their pizza! I know what you’re thinking: “But what about breakfast?” Gotcha covered: Snow City Cafe nearby for breakfast.

Horrible, my wife wanted to try here because our friend posted a good review. Therefore, we called to ask if they delivered to the West Side of town and yes, they did. We ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs, which she had been craving and she liked it, even out 6 year old liked it. One large 18" Cheese Pie, it is a cheese pie right? (See below for photos) The pie was horrible; first off, they placed the bread sticks we ordered and the Spaghetti on the very top of the box so it crushed the lid into the Pizza. Upon opening the box, the cheese was melted to the top of the box. I called to relate my unhappiness with this; the men said oh man bad I forgot to add the center whatever it is called... Come on no offer of anything, so I hung up, and proceeded to eat this nasty looking pie. Yep, BURNT sections of the cheese were so burnt that it was like biting into cardboard. Called back, and explained, this is a Cheese Pie it is supposed to be cheesy not hard not crunchy. Therefore, this is why it got two stars and not just one. The person on the phone said they would send another out. 1 hour later I get another pie, again photo attached. This one was so much better, but man, I had to wait the first 1.5 hours for the nasty pie and then another hour for the second pie. It should have been right before it left the store. It looked as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour is how burnt and crisp it was. I hope this helps...

After walking past this place and smelling the food I knew I wanted to check it out. I was VERY HAPPY when I looked online to see they offered gluten free pizza. That sealed the deal. Upon walking in we could here the Assistant Manager, Gerbil, calling out orders and running the kitchen like a boss! He was very concise when it came to preparing gluten free orders and extremely warm and friendly. You could tell he takes his job seriously, but also enjoys it and takes pride in providing great service and great food. The place was quiet busy but Gerbil kept his staff on task while simultaneously praising a good job or correcting an order. My husband enjoyed the Super Combo and I scarfed down the Chicken Pesto Cauliflower Crust GF pizza. Best gluten free pizza I've ever had! The food was AMAZING and the energy Gerbil brought to the place made for a great experience. If we lived in Anchorage this would definitely be one of our go-to places!!!!

So I just spent $108 for my dinner for me and my girlfriend at the downtown shop. The district manager is here at the restaurant and I don't know what to say except that I went to bathroom and I was forced to clean toilet seat since it was poop stains on the seat. Took me a few mins and I had to cover the seat with the butt cover as well. Within two minutes of sitting down in there and not finished with the business, I have cop knocks banging on the door. I say someone is in here and I just got in... Going to be a little bit. Try the other bathroom since it wasnt being used, and there are two bathrooms here...

Two minutes or less later and more banging on door. I say yes?? No answer... And my girlfriend is then compelled to come the door to tell me not to rush... But anyways it's too late I'm already walking out of the bathroom....

Next after I waited for my food which I ordered and paid on phone before I got there and told give twenty minutes for order.. I arrived on foot 25 mins later and got the food about 15 minutes longer than 20 mins. Maybe it was the 3 customers who all bought slices to go that caused the longer wait... No big deal. I still tipped $15.

Then .the district manager is going to ask me to leave stating I was there for 4 hours and that is not the case.. 1.5 hours at most... But I don't think I have any reason for me and my girlfriend to be asked to leave while I'm still eating... But yes it was not a good time or experience with the manager who is not normally there. I eat here 3 times a week. So I just want to give joe the heads up that I am almost compelled to give up on the way I was treated and never come back. But I won't be doing it for the simple fact that the rest of the crew is good people and I don't want to be in the same place as that guy who was so disrespectful to me and I'll be there again but it's not a good thing to be treated like I'm not welcome or less than a person. Hurt my feeling and ruined my date with the love of my life. So maybe u can get the chance Mr Manager to read this and see if you can try to be a little bit more nice and friendly it would be cool to come over and spend my hard earned money there. But if it ever happens again I'll spend my money anywhere but there and...
