Incompetent kitchen staff, and customer facing employees. I tried to order my mother a meal for Mother's day via door dash as I live across the country from her and we cannot spend time together. When ordering their two enchilada meal through the app, it clearly states that the only ingredients in said enchiladas are cheese and onions, however, when the order arrived it was filled with beef. My mom does not eat red meat, and her dinner was ruined. When I called the restaurant to inform them of what happened, the representative rudely stated that it was not their fault, trying to deflect blame onto Door Dash, stating they must have submitted the order improperly. This is untrue, as the restaurant is responsible for uploading their own menu into Door Dash's system. Regardless, La Cabaña made zero effort to rectify the issue, or even offer an apology in light of the situation. Either the kitchen staff cannot read, or management is incompetent and failed to input their menu properly when submitting it to door dash. Regardless, the restaurant tried to deny responsibility at all costs despite wasting my mother's time and my money. Go somewhere else.

Editing to add - my mom did not want to tell me at first that the $20 beef fajitas I ordered for her friend came with ONLY beef and vegetables, no tortillas, rice, beans, guacamole, or sour cream as advertised in their posting on Door Dash. Maybe dining in is a better experience, but I would HIGHLY recommend that you do not order from this establishment at the risk of getting fleeced. This is...

I’ve lived in Alaska my whole life and have always driven past this place. Currently in college and knowing a whole day of homework and finals are ahead of me, I wanted to have a night of relaxing my mind. I was craving Mexican food and decided to come here since I live so close. This was a Thursday night. I walked in and the first thing I heard was beautiful music flowing into my ears. The restaurant is small but it is very cozy and it is not awkward. I didn’t not feel like “all eyes on me” or uncomfortable. I was warmly greeted and to be honest, it felt like home. They gave me a menu and gave me space to figure out what I wanted. While i waited for my to go food I sat at the bar and met Daniel and a regular, William. They were both so friendly, so warm and so genuine. I love meeting new people but I am a bit shy but they made me feel so comfortable. They offered me chips while I waited and reconsider their best drinks. The staff is so friendly, so warm and so so genuine, I cannot stress enough how genuine they are and that’s such a rare thing in today’s world. When I got home I saw the food was on paper plates, which I love because plastic is not good for the planet! The food is so flavorful. Live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30-9:00pm(or 9:30) for those who just want to pick up their food and go, there is a QR code on the back of the menu(not sure how to order online without this) the environment really brings a sense of community and is so colorful. I will truly be back. Tip them well please, they...

“Order for Brian.”

My partner and I are supporters of local businesses, personally and professionally. In our effort to continue our tradition, on Saturday, 5/22/21, we thought La Cabaña Mexican Restaurant would be a great choice for dinner. Average review higher than other Mexican cantinas, why not see what everyone is buzzing about? Brian was set on a beef chimichanga and a chili relleno. Sounded so good I ordered the same!

Upon arrival, a couple gentlemen acknowledged my presence right away. Reception shared an encounter with another customer. Something to do with our order and wanting a table. I wished we had time to dine in.

I was taken aback when he asked for $74. I wish I had known beforehand, my mistake, so that I may have altered the order. Typically, my partner and I spend an average of $50 or less for resto dining. Perhaps the food is really good? I chose to not raise my concern. I was excited to get home and eat!!!

One star for the quality of food. Please do better. We look forward to further improvements. Thanks...

Not sure how this place gets the reviews it does. Chips were stale and the salsa was nasty. The fajitas I ordered were just ok. There was minimal chicken and tons of veggies. The tortillas were rock hard. For dinner time it was very dead in there. Might have been 4 of us at the bar with just a couple people sitting down. The folks at the bar seemed like regulars. So assuming it was just a few of us that were there for the food. I would search around for more of an authentic Mexican experience.

Honestly my favorite mexican restaurant in anchorage (this coming from a person from San Diego). The prices are very fair considering the "Alaskan tax" and the service was extraordinary. Me and two buddies got there around 6pm on a Saturday night and someone quickly walked us to our table. We were rapidly served with our waters and chips/salsa. The food came out very quickly as well and the servers came by 3x to refill our waters and chips! 10/10 would definitely come back!

We had my mother in laws 60th birthday dinner here and it was the heat. The entire staff went hard did an excellent job catering to our every need. There were over 30 of us and our waiter Samael ensured everyone’s drinks were topped off and we had plenty of chips and dip till the food arrived. Samael was pedal to the metal the entire night and this guy goes hard which I really admire. This establishment will continue to receive my hard earned American 🇺🇸 dollars.
