I have ordered frequently. Like 20-30 times a year for years.
I’m not sure if it’s the underpaid kids working there, management, or something else, but it’s hard at this point to believe that the problem is not systemic. And the problem is this: I have not received a correct order in years. YEARS. I don’t order off menu, I don’t customize anything, I literally just order a salad and a sub. And still, I have never had an accurate order since the Covid era. Whether it’s the salad having spoiled greens, food poisoning, missing elements, or the most common thing: entirely wrong dressings for a large salad (I KEEP getting ranch when I order a Caesar salad. Like, what am I supposed to do with 10 cups of ranch on a Caesar??).
At a certain point I gave up calling and reporting a problem, because they stopped responding to my reports. I know the old saying spouted by George W. Bush: “fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, can’t get fooled again” and yet I keep coming back and keep getting fooled. Maybe I am the problem. Maybe I attract this kind of thing. Every time I order I think, “I mean, what are the odds they mess this up AGAIN,” thinking that at some point the positive end of variance has to happen. I mean, well-run restaurants don’t get things wrong very often. I can count on a couple of fingers the issues I’ve had from all other restaurants in the same timeframe.
If I were a gambler, I would be losing every hand. And yet I have continued gambling on Dion’s all these years. No more. I feel like I’m going insane. It’s so bad that it has become a running joke in my extended family.
Again, I don’t know what the source of the issue is. I’ve tried ordering over the phone, ordering online, ordering in person, ordering at different locations. It’s always wrong. It’s demoralizing to check an order in front of them in detail, only to find when I have returned home that the issue is one of the things I assumed would be impossible to mess up again. Today I received a salad with no tomatoes and the wrong dressing, again. How am I supposed to know to dig into the salad in front of them to check for tomatoes??
So I’m done. This is ridiculous. I’ve given Dion’s thousands of my dollars at this point, and to keep getting slapped in the face makes me feel like a sucker....
Read morePlaced my order online at 9:30 am. The store doesn't open until 10:30, so I tried to place my order for pickup at 10:45 which was an option. Then my order was cancelled because that was an invalid selection. So I changed the pickup time to 11:00am. I called the restaurant at 10:35 to ensure that they received my order. They said yes and it would be ready at 11:00. I explained how I tried to place the order for an earlier time and the system kicked it back, but if possible, could they please make it a little earlier, because I was bringing this for lunch a group that were having to work through lunch. She said no and it would be ready at the time I ordered it. Once I arrived at 10:45 it was not busy at all. A young lady asked if I needed help as soon as I walked in. I told her that I placed my order online and she checked and said that there were orders ahead of mine, but it would be ready at 11:00 am. I was asked a few more times if I needed help as I wait and let them know that I had already been helped. A few more customers came in and placed orders. At 11:00 I went back to the counter and asked if my order was ready and I was told no it was still in the oven. Five minutes later I asked again if my order was ready, the young man said it just needed to be boxed up. Then walked off to help another customer. I just looked at him and asked if it just needed to be boxed up, could he do that for me? He continued to help the next customer. At 11:10 I went back to the counter to see if my pizzas were "boxed up" yet and no they weren't and customers who placed their orders after I arrived were getting their pizzas. Finally I saw a manager checking the orders and starting to box the pizzas. Finally at 11:15 I received my order and I asked the manager if I could have a couple of green chile ranch dressings and a couple of chipotle ranch dressings. She said yes then rang them up and charged me for them. She put them in a bag for me and I left. Once I arrived where my people were working, I as the leader showed up five minutes late. Then I realized that the manager had charged me for the dressings and given me the wrong ones. I have never had service this bad...
Read moreWell I know Dion's has been a great pizza stop since they opened....But as of late it hasn't been that great of a pizza in my opinion. My wife and I decided to stop at this location on 3/21/25. Well we ordered the subs which normally those are great but I'm guessing the cashier didn't seem to listen to mine or my wife's request of no tomatoes and no mustard on my sandwich and very easy mustard on my wife's...Well it wasn't made correctly but that's fine because the one I'm here to talk about is the grease soaked pizza that didn't taste appetizing at all... One thing is I don't know how many napkins I used to clean off the top of my pizza or even the bottom because of how much grease was coming off of the pizza and it wasn't just the pizza that me and my wife got for ourselves it was both the pizza for ourself to share and a cheese pizza for our kids to share. Me and my wife got the 505 pizza and one thing for us New Mexicans is our green chili and as of late most restaurants that I have eaten out at have very very disappointing green chili. Dion takes the cake with disgusting green chili because there were stems stuck on most pieces of pizza and on top of that it tasted more like a soaked bell pepper then it did green chili. On top of that all it was a dine-in and majority of the people that were dining in or being given carryout bags all their stuff was in carryout which I mean if someone tells you dine in they're dining in you don't have to put their stuff in the bag. It's safe to say that I don't think I'm probably going to be eating at Dion's for a while until they figure out what's going on with having to wipe the pizzas with several different napkins just to dry some of the grease off and I don't know figure out what they're going to do with their green chili supplier because it's horrible. It sucks because you think for $78 it should be a little better tasting but I...
