I want to first start off saying I 100% understand the difficult time local businesses must be having during this time. That's the whole reason my boyfriend and I decided to come to Malcolm's for dinner (had to do "curbside" because the calls were busy no matter how many times we tried.) Let me also put out there that neither of us had been here before, so we were pretty excited. We showed up at 4:55 so we wouldn't have trouble finding a parking spot, and our order was taken very quickly. We noticed about 30 minutes in that some cars were already leaving, no big deal, they were probably here before us. After about an hour we started noticing cars that were definitely here AFTER us leaving. We gave it a little bit more time but still nothing. We eventually got out of our car to stand at the door and see what was going on. At this point we were here 1 hour and 30 minutes. The lady who was trying to figure out our situation was nice, she asked who helped us and I described her, and she said she Didnt. Recognize. Us. What? They said they were going to figure it out, so we stayed in wait. After we had been there 2 hours, they told us our order "wasn't in the system" and offered to take our order at that time. When I asked how long it would take, they said we would have to be the LAST order. We were one of the first people there and they wanted us to wait probably another hour (there were several people there still) until we got our food? No thank you. Needless to say we left empty handed after 2 hours of waiting assuming our order was being made. Not a good first experience and we will probably never go here again, which is a shame because I was very excited about eating here but I don't think I could...
Read moreI took my nieces to Malcom's for ice cream/sundaes. I figured it would be something fun to do with them. But I was wrong.
We stood at the door for a minute. With no service just being stared at by two waitresses (one of them I know. The other one wearing ear gauges) and some more in the back.
I looked at my phone. The time was 2:19 PM. I looked over on the south side of the register. I saw 3 booths opened; 2 of them not wiped down, the other one was and the waitress with the ear gauges “pretend” to wipe where she left the towel and walked to the back.
Being stared at by waitresses along with the customers still with no service to the point of being uncomfortable; I finally walked up to the register and asked what I need to do to be seated. The girl at the register said “just seat yourself.”
We walked around the corner to the north side of the register. There were two booths opened but not wiped down. We stood by one of the booths. We waited and no one came to wipe it down for us.
I finally walked out of there! I looked at my phone and the time was 2:25 PM.
I ended up taking my nieces to Braum’s where it’s much friendlier and the atmosphere was a lot better. They were relieved from not being stared at.
Being Asians standing there awkwardly and not being acknowledged but stared at I was uncomfortable. We were uncomfortable!
I’ve been to Malcom’s for the last 10 years during my lunch hour with my coworkers and have never experienced this before. YOU CAN SAY I’M NOT GOING BACK! I wouldn’t recommend any minorities going there either unless you wanted to be ignored...
Read moreI like to take my grandkids here for the ice cream selection, but the few times I have been there twice they got the sit down food wrong as well as the take out order. When I told the waitress the take out order was wrong, she argued with me about my order. Hello, I ordered a hamburger to go, how could I be wrong when there was a ham sandwich in there instead. On another occasion we sat and waited for like 15 minutes before we were waited on because they were to busy chatting at the pay out counter. Then just the other day we ordered the bacon cheese fries and we were very disappointed. It was a pile of fries with sandwich cheese sliced sporadically and it wasn't even melted. Our food was cold. The burger was good, but not hot, and I had already said something about the cheese fries so I didn't want to bring up the cold food. The tables are always sticky and dirty. The bathrooms smell. My girls did enjoyed their ice cream. I took a picture of the bacon, cheese fries because I was at ahhh about it, even after I mentioned it to them, they said they probably couldn't do anything about it. They brought out a different order, but it was still the same thing. Ugh! 🤦They need to to Hummers and take a look at their bacon cheese fries, now those are bacon...
