We had a 10am reservation for breakfast. The parking was a little confusing but we got it figured out pretty quickly. We were sat immediately and had been greeted by all the friendly staff. The whole place looked clean and felt very spacious and inviting.
They have a pretty extensive menu so, after looking it over we chose to go with the Huevos rancheros, huevos con chorizo, queso fundido, churro waffle and finished it off with the churro cart.
The food came out hot and quick thanks to our awesome server Sarahi. The stars of the show were the churro waffle and the huevos rancheros. Both were delicious and I would get them on a repeat visit. Loved the candied bacon that came with the waffle.
The queso fundido wasn't as authentic as I would've liked. It was basically just chips and white queso. I don't recall tasting any chorizo with it. But I still enjoyed the cheese.
My only criticism was that the huevos con chorizo was really bland. They used a chicken based chorizo so it didn't have that usual flavor that you get with pork. I had to add salsa and cheese just to give it some taste. Also there was no beans served with it either, which was surprising. However we still finished the plate and decided to finish it all off with the churro cart.
I would definitely recommend getting the churro cart for any celebration or special occasion. It literally comes out in a mini cart with a sparkler. So much fun!! The churros were warm and sweet and came with a side of chocolate sauce and lechera sauce to dip them in.
Overall I was happy with the service and the food. The prices weren't bad considering that they are directly across the street from Disneyland. I think with 5 people it was about 100 bucks total after tax and tip.
I'd say give this place a try. I'd recommend them if you're looking for something a little bit different than the average taco truck. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other food items or maybe a mezcal flight. 4 out...

This past year, we’ve made two visits to Calaca Mamas Cantina, and each time the experience has been worth every penny.
March 2024: Pre-Park Relaxation
On our first visit, we stopped by on the night before heading into Disneyland after a long drive. We opted for some light snacks and drinks to tide us over. The mixed drinks were excellent—and slightly more affordable than what you’d find inside the parks. We also sampled a few appetizers, all of which were very good. With its outdoor seating featuring cozy fire pits, Calaca Mamas provided a perfect, relaxed setting to enjoy refreshments and even catch the park’s fireworks, a great option if you don’t have a park ticket.
March 2025: Early Dinner Delight
Our second visit was for an early dinner after a stroll through Downtown Disney. Having enjoyed our previous experience, we returned for more. My wife ordered a streak bowl paired with a specialty cocktail that she absolutely loved. I opted for the Beria Ramen and a craft Mexican lager; the ramen had a satisfying spicy kick that was perfectly balanced by the beer. Our daughter enjoyed the kids’ cheese quesadilla—a reliable, kid-friendly option. We started our meal with a serving of chips, salsa, and queso, with the queso being a standout hit. Although our bill came to around $145 with tip, which is on the higher side, the consistently excellent service made it worth it.
Final Thoughts
Calaca Mamas Cantina offers a unique and delightful dining option right across from the Disneyland entrance. Whether you’re looking for a pre-park snack, a place to enjoy the fireworks, or a memorable dinner after a day at the parks, this spot delivers on quality, service, and ambiance. We definitely recommend...
Read moreTonight, 3/30/23, we sat at the bar for drinks. The first impression with the bartender was fine - although he never introduced himself. After the first drink, about 15 minutes, the bartender was flagged down and I asked for another round for my party of three. He asked if I wanted the same drinks and I said “yes please” and for 30 minutes we waited and did not get another drink. The bartender did not come near us at the end of the bar or look in our direction. There were 8 people total at the bar, including the 3 in my group. There was no rush or stress in the atmosphere. After 30 minutes we walked to the end of the bar and asked the bartender for more drinks again and he agreed and said nothing about forgetting about the follow up order from 30 minutes ago. After about 10 minutes the follow up drinks arrived. After a few minutes, approximately 10-15 minutes, we flagged the bartender down to order a third round and he decided to change the order from a double to a single without asking. We have been at the bar for approximately an hour and a half at this point. After this we decide to tab out. The bartender rang us up for more alcohol than we ordered. When we brought this to his attention the bartender tried to explain it. When the bartender realized we weren’t going to pay for drinks we didn’t order he simply replied “sorry for the discrepancy.” After the bartender returned with the updated and correct ticket he had the audacity to say “we marked you down one drink to total _”. At this point we paid and left. This has been by far the worst bar/restaurant experience both I and my party have ever had. 0/10 Would...
