Chaplus Modern Tea Room — Restaurant in Anaheim

I'm a fan! We walked by Chaplus right about the time I started craving a refreshing beverage. When looking at their menu my eyes immediately averted to the Lychee Dragon Fruit Slush. It's exactly what it sounds like. And it's all I wanted.

The staff was so sweet. They were super friendly and when I asked if it really was as pretty as it looked on the menu, one of the girls exclaimed, "I'll make it that pretty for you!" The interior was a very calming theme, green seats against a gray backdrop and plant decor. I loved how bright it was. If we weren't anxious to walk around I would have loved to stay and enjoy the fresh, relaxing atmosphere.

The drink was so perfect. It's not as sweet as it may look so don't be disappointed. I found it just about the right level. It was a very interested (in a good way, promise!) flavor, and the lychee bits were fun to eat and tasted great! The size is generous as well. This large drink was only $7.58, including tax.

I don’t often leave reviews on places but this one was an exceptionally bad experience. I entered the place, and ordered with the man who was working. I ordered just a classic black milk tea with boba and it tasted pretty okay. The man however felt especially stand off ish. The store was completely empty and he egarly hovered when I was, especially at the tipping section. I said “thank you” and “please” numerous times and never received any verbal response back or some kind of body gesture. I understand food service and customer service can be extremely draining so I try my best to be very polite, but for him just to blankly stare at me made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. There were 4-6 staff working. No customers ahead of us or in the store when we placed order, yet the bobas took long time finish - longer than usual compared to other boba shops with all things factored in. There was confusion about which boba drink needed requires which tea flavor choice ordered.

While the menu drink photos look good and packaging look cute (cups), now the actual tea based boba drinks were SERIOUSLY lacking tea flavour depth. Very, Bland. We only drank 10% of the bobas. This is a first for us, not finishing most of our bobas, as we r huge boba lovers.
