This budget minded "motel" could use some work. Upon check in, it was quickly recognized that this hotel was way run down. The interior of the main lobby/check in area was clean and organized, but after that area, all of the common areas are in various states of disrepair. The elevator was covered in scratched in graffiti and did appear clean. Additionally, when getting off the elevator and walking to our room, the floor did not appear to have been cleaned in a long, long time. Rooms were a great size and were clean on first appearance. Bathroom were also a decent size. Water pressure in the shower was absolutely non-existent, while the toilet flushed similarly to one in a crush ship or airplane (not that it matters). We had a double queen room and thought this was great, because while my wife and I share a bed, we use separate blankets, so were excited to have a second set. This lasted a night, because when they cleaned the room the second day of our stay, they took the second blanket and left but one. So we called the front desk for a second, and we attended the front desk to pick up another. Additionally, each room DOES NOT contain a hair dryer, even though they advertise as such. I am not sure if they had issues with theft of these devices, but again you have to go down to the front desk to pick up a hair dryer if you want one in your room. Throughout the entirety of our stay the hotels hot tub (spa) was not operating properly. On the day of our check in we went down for a relaxing fit in the tub, and found that while it was full of water, it contained a large amount of debris. Keep in mind it is open air, so tree and other earthly debris can fall into the pool/hot tub, but no one was making any attempt throughout the day to maintain this. We thought we could get around this but turning on the jets, but those did not work either. This was a big deal because after long days walking around Disneyland, it would have been great to have a relaxing soak. Speaking of relaxing, you wont get a terribly relaxing sleep at this location, as it is very loud. You can very easily hear just about everything. You can hear the freeway and the wanna-be fast and the furious street racers, who seem to be at it all night, and then at about 6 in the morning you will hear kids running around and screaming (again this can be expected given the distance to Disneyland). I will say that the staff at the Hotel were all fantastic! Each staff member made us feel very welcome, were extremely friendly and outgoing, and were always cheerful and helpful. I will tell you to keep in mind, before booking, that this is a decent hike to the Disneyland Resort. It took us (two adults) about 15 minutes each way to get to the parks. During the day this is a safe good and well walked area. At night though, there is a decent stretch of this walk that is not well lit. This can lead to a discomfort when going to a from the parks, though throughout 5 days of going to from, we did not experience anything negative during the walk. The distance from the park does deter you from returning to your room throughout the day for a break. So when you leave in the morning, be prepared for 12-16 hours at Disney.
Ultimately this is a very budget place to stay. If you can get by the lack of cleanliness and maintenance in the common area, and get get past the seemingly "loudness" of the location, you will have a decent stay. In the end, you are located near Disneyland and that is where you should be...
Read moreThey are running some kind of scam at this hotel. I booked on Feb 25 for a stay on Oct 19. I flew into LAX and while I was driving to Anaheim from the airport, the manager called me and said my reservation had been cancelled and they had no room for us, so to not bother coming?! She said it was not her fault, that the motel 6 scheduling software on the website cancelled a bunch of reservations (with no explanation) and she was just calling to let us know that we have no room and they were booked solid so there was nothing she could do. We were in California from another country with no place to stay, even though we booked 6 months prior on the motel 6 site itself. She couldn't offer any solutions or help in any way. My husband called back and spoke to her, to which she continued to argue that it wasn't her fault and there was nothing she could do about it, it was the motel 6 scheduling software and they were booked solid. My husband asked for a phone number of a corporate office so he could speak to someone higher up, and suddenly her story changed. She said, oh wait, I can have you for one night (our original reservation was for 3 nights) but that's it. My husband continued pressing the issue and she then said that she could actually give us 2 nights. Then, magically, she says that actually she can just reinstate our original reservation for the full 3 nights, even thought moments ago she insisted they were booked solid and we were basically stranded. We booked a King room, the room we were ultimately given was a queen accessible room. We received no discount or apology. On the first night, my husband went to the front desk to request additional pillows, and there was a family trying to check in (man, woman, children) at around 10pm. The front desk agent was giving them the same story! The reservation was cancelled and sorry you don't have a room here. The poor man had been travelling all day with his family and had just arrived and were being told at 10pm that they have no room, despite their reservation. The agent told them the location of another Motel 6 approximately 20 minutes away. The man asked if the rate was going to be the same or if there would be a guarantee of there being room at the other hotel as he didn't want to be blindly driving around looking for somewhere to stay. The agent couldn't give him any information. My husband spoke to the man and told him the same thing had happened to us, but that they had somehow found is a room even though they were booked solid. I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that we booked far in advance on a low weekend and got a great rate. As the dates got closer, events were announced in Anaheim and at the Disney parks so rates were going way up and many hotels were sold out. It seems they may have tried to bump the less expensive rates out so that they could book people in at higher rates and make more money. How else do you explain the manager suddenly finding us a room when they were "booked solid" when my husband asked for corporate contact information? Again, we paid the same rate for a much lesser room than we booked. And no discount for the stress of the situation. I don't know what ended up happening to the family that...
Read moreAs i sit down here to write this review, I have to kind of kick myself in the %#& because I should have read the reviews first before I stayed here, but it is what it is. I am a businessowner myself and I would never write a negative review on any establishnment unless it was warrated without any doubt. In this case, its defintiely warranted. I checked in on 4/11/2023 and prior to this I stayed at this location many times in the past. That being said, prior to my arrival, I contacted the property to inquire about an early check in. I am not sure who I spoke with, but the front desk person told me it was fine to check in early and there would be a fee. I accepted and came down to the property to be told when i arrived that I would have to wait until 2pm as there were no rooms. Of course, I was not pleased to hear that so I asked Maria, the front desk person whom this review is about why I was told that there were rooms available for early check in. From there it was all downhill. Any question I asked was met with sucking of the teeth, huffing and or rolling of the eyes. Really? I tried to make sure the rate I paid was the rate I was given. That was even I guess too much to ask. I saw a person come in behind me approach the front desk counter and she asked snottily, "Hi, can I help you?' The person was a vendor trying to speak with someone about doing business with Motel 6. She basically told this person that it was not going to happen and that there was no questions about linen that she would answer. When I walked out, I spoke with that vendor and he told me that Maria defintiely appeared as if she didnt even care about her job and that the customers were causing an interruption in her day. I spoke with the manager Susan on that day about her employee I am not sure what was said that would make a difference, but I wanted to leave it there, however Maria and I had another incident again about the daily parking rate of 27.00 (which btw is crazy for Motel 6 - even if it is near Disney). I inquiired about the daily parking rate and I was met with a plastic sign holder being waved in front of me held by Maria, with the new policy outlined on it. The way she did this, the huffing and puffing was done with attitude. Long story short, more rolling of the eyes from Maria two days later after being talked to by her Manager and to me that means no progress has been made and we are back to square 1. So I have concluded that I am not a fan of Maria and if Motel 6 believes that is the kind of person that should be interacting with customers, well then I dont know if I should interact with Motel 6. I also have contacted the administrative office about this and hopefully will get a...
