SACRED IS THIS FOOD. SACRED IS THIS PLACE. Earthen Jar is hands down my favorite restaurant!!! the staff is immensely lovely and kind.. Then there's the food!!! Which is SCRUMPTIOUS! MOUTH WATERING! I eat until my stomach threatens to burst then grab I a couple desserts and komhuchas PLUS a to go plate for home/my loved ones. There's seriously something special about this place, they even play peaceful Bob Marley tracks. 😍 I moved to Ann Arbor just to be closer to this restaurant, before that I used to drive ~45mins several times a month simply for a couple plates of EJ and to feel the beautiful energy and see the beautiful people in this restaurant. Now that I live closer I EAT IT EVERYDAY AND DONT GET TIRED OF IT!
Also HEALTHY❣️❣️❣️ you won't get better treatment or food anywhere else, I promise I've previously had all other local veg restaurants, yet none have compared to Earthen Jar or even come close to it!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for serving us. we don't deserve this treasure...
Read moreThis place is iconic, amazing, delicious, heaven on earth kind of food. I love every single dish they have. My favorite are those baseball sized potato balls. Oh, soooo good! But the home run is that creamy cashew-turmeric sauce drenched broccoli dish. At night I dream of it. Then I gorge myself on if I remember to stop by the next day.
The folks that own and run the place are the kindest, most peaceful and gentle souls. Super tolerant. Just lovely people. Been coming here since the 90’s and I hope you continue to exist for the rest of eternity. You are an Ann Arbor staple and crown jewel. The food is truly heavenly. And I’m a meat eater that simply appreciates phenomenal vegetarian fare once in a while. This place is a true HIT!! The Buddha would be right at...
Read moreThe food had a lot of flavor to it. However, the food at the food bar was still disappointing. The restaurant was open 30 to 45 minutes prior to entering. Yet, the food at the hot bar was lukewarm or cold. On top of this, the food bar is not true buffet style. It is food by the pound. The food cost 7.99 per pound. The scale is NOT tared prior to placing your tray on the scale. The tray weights 0.05 lb, so you are paying 40 cents per tray. That is A LOT of money.
The water filter also needs to be changed on their self service machine. It takes 30 seconds to fill up a 8 oz glass.
I will not be coming back to this place on future visits. But I do appreciate the attempt to...
