Maybe it's me. The reviews do not match my experience. We went on a Saturday around 11. There was a 30-minute wait. No issue, it's to be expected on a busy weekend. They got the two of us seated in the time that they promised. We sat for about 5 minutes before someone came over. The waiter came over and offered to take our drink order, and we just went ahead and ordered food since we had been looking at the menu while we were waiting. It took about 10 minutes for him to bring out the coffee and the water. The coffee arrived, and it was not only weak and a little bit bitter, but it was also warm, not hot. It's ok, we drank it. Food arrived shortly. I ordered the southern slammer sandwich and asked them to put the bacon on the side as I don't eat meat. I got it with home fries. Both were lukewarm, but I didn't say anything as I hate sending food back. What killed me about the sandwich was for $18, it wasn't even filled up. You can see in the picture that the food was put in the middle of the bread, and the corners had nothing on them. There was 1 egg only. Even if I had gotten the two pieces of bacon that were included, it wouldn't have filled up the entire bread. The flavor was good, probably better with bacon, I'd imagine. BF got the maryland omlet with crab, and he liked it, but again, it wasn't hot. We ate everything and didn't complain, and maybe our experience was unique as the reviews seemed great. I might give them another try during the week and see if maybe it was just a one-off. I'm very disappointed bc for $70 with a tip, I was expecting the food to at least be hot. Waiter was ok. Checked twice, but no coffee refill or anything. I gave 3 stars bc I am hoping this was an exception, not the norm. If I try again, I'll update. It is cute inside, and there's parking out front of you're lucky enough to snag one of...
Read moreLet’s start off with the $17 I paid for a kids meal for my 1yr old. The kids meal alone is $13. I didn’t realize that the drink was not included until I got the bill and it was an additional $4 for a kids cup apple juice; had I known that I would’ve ordered an adult apple juice for an additional $1. My friend and I ordered the kids food first along with a beverage and the peach cobbler biscuits until we decided on an entree. The beverage and peach cobbler biscuits never came out. We finally decided on the shrimp and grits with NO BACON and the salmon and grits (as is). I do not eat pork and have not had it in over 20 years. We finally get our food, everything appears to look good and it was not. After a few bites I noticed my food had bacon in it and my friend’s meal didn’t have bacon at all. We brought it to the waitress attention and she confirmed there was in fact bacon in my food and assured me that she wrote no bacon on the ticket. She offered to have the kitchen remake my food but by then I was totally turned off and no longer wanted to eat. She had the manager comp the meal off; however, that was it. No apology from management, nothing. I’ve been to several Miss Shirley’s before (3+ years ago) I do not remember the food being as bland as it was. Other than the taste of pork, there was absolutely no flavor in any of the food. The green tomatoes seemed to be fresh and crunchy from the batter; however, the batter had no flavor. Did I mention we went on a Monday around 12:30pm, it was not busy and the service just wasn’t that great overall. The waitress was nice though! She asked if I would get sick from eating the pork, I wasn’t sure if I would. Update: I did get sick less than 1 hr after eating. You’ll have to go for your own experience but I will not...

Miss Shirley’s is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed with a warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and unparalleled customer service. This place sets a high standard for how a restaurant should operate.
The food at Miss Shirley’s is exceptional. They are incredibly accommodating, customizing dishes to suit your preferences perfectly. What really stands out is their ability to remember your order from previous visits. When I returned, they greeted me with a smile and asked if I’d like “the usual,” remembering exactly what I had ordered last time. This personalized touch is truly impressive.
A memorable experience was when my father left his wallet behind. The staff kept it safe overnight and ensured it was returned to him the next day after verifying ownership. Their honesty and dedication to their customers are commendable.
The loyalty program at Miss Shirley’s is also fantastic. We’ve accumulated over $85 in points, which we used to cover one of our meals. The staff’s attentiveness is remarkable—they continuously refill drinks and check in to ensure everything is perfect. They are always courteous and eager to enhance your dining experience.
Miss Shirley’s offers a wonderful family-friendly environment, making it the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. If you’re in Annapolis, you shouldn’t miss the chance to enjoy a meal here. I highly recommend Miss Shirley’s for an unforgettable...
