Have been here plenty of times but was not impressed at all this time. Friend and I both ordered a margarita on the rocks . Tasted absolutely disgusting! We both took a drink at the same time and looked at each other and said the exact same thing... this tastes like a cleaning chemical! They don't even make their own drinks, came out of a tap. I did bring them back to the bar and explained how terrible tasting they were. I asked if their lines needed to be cleaned or if they were recently cleaned due to the taste. He didn't respond. I asked if he could actually make them and he just asked if I wanted something else. He said "how about a blended margarita?" I asked if they made those and he said they come from the machine. We decided to give it a try. He poured some mango flavoring in the glass and added the "blended" margarita. Those basically had no flavor. Definitely NOT worth $10.50 per drink!
We were seated and held high hopes that the food would be better. It was, but not by much. The salsa and bean dip was good they brought out ahead of time. We ordered and food came out within 5 minutes (extremely fast for how busy they were). I got the Fiesta Burrito, which had grilled shrimp (only had about 4 shrimp definitely not enough) queso blanco, rice, queso fresca and pico. It was ok. Just warm, not hot like it should have been. Friend got a chimichanga and said it was "ok". The server was polite and was there to take our order but he was not the one to bring it out. He did not come back to ask if everything was ok or if we would like anything else. He cane back to take our plates and collect payment and that was it. He was constantly walking past our table to go wait on others but never stopped at ours. Definitely not the service and quality of food I've experienced in the past.
Will not be going back as there are other Mexican restaurants in the area that make excellent margaritas (not out of a tap) and the food is better portions and HOT (as it should be) abs just overall better experience. Unfortunately, I feel Sangria's is not what...
Read moreI think I just found my new favorite place in Appleton! I ordered a taco salad and a alcohol-free drink. I took Roslyn, our servers, drink recommendation and went with a fruit drink. I think it was a black berry drink (mixed with somwthing else) since my garnishes were black berries.
The Taco: I ordered a pulled chicken taco and it came in an edible shell! IT WAS A TACO SHAPED TACO SALAD MAN! How creative! It was delicious by the way. I only wish I ordered it without the beans because the beans were at the very bottom of the shell and made it extremely soggy by the time I got my food. Lesson for next time for sure! Still a 10 out of 10, because I will be ordering that again minus the beans!
The drink: It looked cute, but it was also very delicious and in perfect slushy consistency! We had a long conversation with our waitress, in the meantime I asked her for a strawbery guava drink and I very well could have received that. I think the garnish only threw me off. Regardless, that too was delicious and I plan to order that again as well!!
The atmosphere: There are two floors to this establishment. The first floor hosts the bar, while the second floor hosts a seating area. We were seated upstairs. The entire restaurant was very well-lit and it felt like a family atmosphere more than a bar-type of atmosphere, if that makes sense. All of the music there was in Spanish, which was a perfect decorative piece to the restaurant. Lastly, I love how certain dishes that the waiters brought out were set to flames and broiled right in front of us; it reminded me of hibachi style cuisine in a way!
All in all...
Read moreI’m from Chicago and this was my first time coming to this restaurant and I cannot believe the lack of respect this restaurant had for me and my family. Brittany was our waitress and she was SO slow. They made our food incorrectly (we are vegetarians) so obviously we asked for it to be remade. Brittany and this other waiter, Phil, had the audacity to stand right next to us and talk smack about us. We overheard them saying “should we just grill some veggies and throw it on top of their food?” My brother in law turned and said “Are you really going to talk about us while we are sitting right here?”, they looked at us, rolled their eyes, and continued. THEY CONTINUED talking about us. Overall we asked to speak to the owner, they refused to give us her contact information (whose name is Sarah). I am going to keep this employees name undisclosed, but after seeing what was happening, they came over to us and quietly told us this happens all the time. To be honest, I can handle bad food, but when it comes to poor customer service and downright disrespect— very disappointed. Luckily, my fiancé recorded the entire interaction including where PHIL yelled at my aunt “BE QUIET, stop interrupting me” when she was speaking in a different language to another family member at the table. We will be posting this video on social media so this restaurant can get the attention...
