Mediocre Service, Mediocre Drink:

I tried this place for the first time today after reading all of the wonderful online reviews. When I walked into the facility at 1153am today (Fri, 11/17/2017) , there were no other customers in line. Behind the counter were 2 young ladies (the cashier: a young Black female with natural hair and dark rimmed glasses; the barista a young Caucasian female with dark hair and bangs) . They both saw me enter. When I approached the counter, the cashier stood and looked at me for a minute with no facial expression, and with no words. She eventually said "hey" with no smile, no friendliness, and with some mild appearance of annoyance on her face. Who greets a customer like this?!? I ordered a 16 oz Honey Cinnamon Latte and asked for the drink to be as hot as possible. She didn't ask if I needed anything else, and didn't say "Thank you.," Or "Have a great day."

I stood for an additional 8 minutes while the cashier and the barista who was making my drink, stood there and loudly gossiped about another coworker (it was obvious from their conversation based on the comments they were making about her and her performance). When I finally got my drink, it was lukewarm. The barista did wish me a good day, although she got the temp of my drink wrong. I was unhappy. As I was preparing to leave, I noticed that a couple walked in, and the cashier greeted them with big smile and said "Hi there!!! How are you?!?". I don't know what the reason was for the difference in the greeting, but she did not make me feel welcomed there as a customer. I was disappointed with the entire service that I received.

Nevertheless, lesson learned: I will not be returning here, ever again. I've learned that we teach people how to treat us, and I will not patronize this business that provided me with poor customer service and a lack luster, mediocre expensive drink. I'll take my hard earned money and spend...

feel totally scammed by this place. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience deserves the extra effort.

I used to live in Atlanta, and Dancing Goats was my go-to coffee shop. Back then, I had nothing but praise for their hot coffee selection - it was consistently great. So on a recent visit to the city, I decided to stop by my once-favorite spot and try something refreshing: an iced matcha latte. Worst decision ever.

What I got was a pale green cup of what can only be described as dirt milk - gritty, chalky, with undissolved matcha clumps floating around and settled at the bottom. It tasted awful. And at $7.20 + tax + tip (one I now seriously regret), it was hands down the worst matcha latte I’ve ever had.

To make matters worse, the pricing is outrageous - higher than what you’d pay at many coffee shops in Manhattan. That’s saying something. Honestly, if you’re craving a matcha latte, even Dunkin’ or Starbucks (while still being two worst options on the market) might at least serve you something semi-drinkable. They’re the fast-food of coffee, and still somehow manage to outdo Dancing Goats on this one.

I’m genuinely disappointed, Dancing Goats. You used to be great, and now it feels like you’re just...

I would not come back here again. The website does not give a good indication of what kinds of foods are available besides the coffee they have. Next, I proceeded to ordering a bagel, and was in hopes they would have some sandwich type options, which they didn't, and that is okay. But they just hand over the whole bagel, untoasted in a bag. So you have to slice your own bagels and go toast them yourself. I hate Dunkin' Donuts, but they had better bagels than this place. The cream cheese costs extra, and the only other option of a spread they have is jelly, which is the cheap stuff you find in the complimentary hotels of Hampton Inn. In addition, if you are dining in, there is no proper plate, cup, or silverware given, things are handed in paper cups and bags. This is not a coffee bar by any means, it is just a more downgraded starbucks. I also ordered the vanilla latte, which was waaayyy too sweet for how they are supposed to be made. I wasted all my money, and I don't think this is a place you want to go if you want quality coffee, or any food for...

I wandered in while stuck in Midtown, running errands, and sat there while I had time to kill, reading. The interior was comfortable, and its breadth meant that scattered conversations from fellow customers were non-intrusive. The staff were polite and prompt. I ordered two drinks. a Double Espresso: 2.5/5. It was deeply roasted for a specialty coffee, borderline full city roast. I am personally not a fan of this flavor profile, but it was adeptly pulled and promptly served. For the right person, this would be an excellent coffee. (Vegetal, Earthy, Dark Chocolate, medium body). a Pour-over: 4.5/5. I ordered it iced, 95* outside, and enjoyed it inside. (Cola/Caramel, Faint Cherry, Milk Chocolate, exceptional body for an iced pour-over).

I heard the place got rave reviews by a lot of the locals, but I wasn't impressed. Maybe they aren't full-throttle on weekend mornings, but I could literally eat an entire one of their muffins while waiting for my mocha to be made, which was not hot when it was served to me. Also, no one seemed to be able to connect to the wifi the two days in a row I ventured here. The space is nice and looks like a fun place to work out of if you don't live in Alta Midtown and have access to their community space.
