Midtown MARTA Station is one of the most convenient and well-connected stops in Atlanta. The location is excellentâright in the heart of Midtownâmaking it easy to access Georgia Tech, Piedmont Park, restaurants, and offices nearby. Trains run frequently, and the platforms are generally clean and well-lit. Thereâs plenty of signage to guide first-time riders, and the escalators and elevators make it accessible for everyone.
The station feels fairly safe during the day, especially with the steady flow of commuters, students, and visitors. In the evenings, itâs best to stay alert like you would in any big city, but thereâs usually a MARTA officer around. Breeze card vending machines are easy to use, and you can reload in just a minute or two.
The only minor downside is that during rush hours, trains can get quite packed, and occasionally the escalators are under maintenance. Still, for convenience, accessibility, and location, Midtown MARTA Station is a solid choice for getting around Atlanta...

Itâs almost always sketchy and although you will feel much safer when there is security around - there often isnât. Either homeless people or just.. people will try to talk to you or strike up conversations. For that reason I only try to use this during peak hours but this is Atlanta and not many people are even on during peak hours. So please just be careful all the time!
There are always people waiting outside the station and it often smells of pee around the whole area, even on the escalators.
That said, it is very convenient and centrally located. You can exit on either side depending on where youâd like to go and there is a bus stop right by it too. A ride to the airport takes only 30ish minutes and drops you right inside the airport. Going into downtown or north to buckhead is...
Read moreIf you are planning to rely on the the Marta for a long period, don't. You are making a mistake, unless you don't mind waiting on the Marta stations for prolonged periods of time. I have been commuting by the Marta for about 5 months now, and I had to connect both through buses and trains.
Marta ENSURES that they regularly skip connecting buses without prior notice, which leads to long wait times at the station which are filthy to say the least. So if you have an alternate option DO NOT RELY ON THE MARTA ON A REGULAR BASIS. Undoubtedly the worst public transport experience I...
